Where does the law stand on this?

If someone falls down with a heart attack and you offer no assistance and you don't even phone for an ambulance or raise the alarm and you just stand there and watch the person die are you complicit in that persons death?

Obviously you are morally complicit but legally are you obliged to call an ambulance if someome is dying in front of you?

He did commit at least two offences in failing to report a death and moving a body but I'm not sure if he committed a crminal offence by offering no assistance/help as Michael was dying?

Phelan is a great character to watch

He reminds me of a character from Brookside. He escaped Brookside Close and ended up in Weatherfield.

The delivery man saw Michael there, Phelan was there after this as Gary saw him, Phelan should have noticed the gates had been broken into and Pinky and Perky gone, but didn't look around to check for intruders or even call the Police. The cops will want to know why he didn't bother to check the premises, but then again this is Corrie so who knows

I loved Phelan last night. His comments to Anna were vile but the matter of fact way in which he delivered them was brilliantly done. He's a fantastic villain. I know he has a shelf life and I hope that Anna is ultimately the one to bring him down, but I do hope it isn't too soon as I am enjoying him so much. The idiots who are buying flats from him deserve everything they (don't) get!

The character is emotionally dead.
Vinny isn't his mate - he's just someone he can team up with to con people. He has no friends.
He has no feelings for Eileen - she's just someone to satisfy his needs and give him somewhere comfortable to live. In fact he has no feelings for anybody.
He has no concerns about ruining people financially.
He's quite willing to blackmail.
He has no sense of family.
He has no conscience about anything, including life and death.
He's only interested in his own wellbeing and will use anyone to that end.

A few have realised just what he is, and eventually they all will.”

Oh he's great. The best character on Corrie for years

He took out Michael without laying a finger on him

He doesn't have to do anything. It's implied. Perhaps he could send Anna horriblis round the bend before killing her

IMO Phelan, Todd and Vinny should face the music. There should be an extradition order out on Vinny. This could make a good story I think.”

There could be many more storyline's for him, he might still get away with it if Vinny leaves with everything, Phelan will then make out he has also been conned and on we go ......

That horse has long since bolted for me, I'm afraid. Tedious.

I wasn't aware of the actor's name before now. It must have been mentioned before, but what are the odds of someone's real name being a combination of two of the family names in the show they are acting in?

That certainly was not a show of respect...... it was a show of mockery. Great acting though. Is this the end of Phelan in Corrie or will he survive?

He could be thrown out by Eileen, move on to Gail and marry her. That would guarantee he will die in the not too distant future and end his time on Corrie.

Absolutely LOVE the character Phelan. Connor McIntyre is an extremely talented man...both as an actor and an artist.
I think tonight showed him in a bit more depth.

Long may he stay in Corrie

I wouldn't worry. He can't last much longer thankfully. Corrie/soap law.

Hardly Tracy actually murdered someone and she has been allowed back in the fold. Also she went along with a plan to cheat Liz out of the pub and yet still there she is given the time of day by everyone with an extended family and even a decent love life

If anyone deserves forgiveness it's Phelan. At least he's watchable, funny and charismatic.

Phelan and Peter are the only decent actors with good storylines that have come down the pike since I started to watch it. And it hasn't been that long. I guess some producers can't handle success. They like to stick to the accepted substandard plots and stupid residents. It's easier to churn out. Its becoming nothing more than chewing gum for the mind. Time for a shake up up in a lot of departments.

No doubt Anna will go and harass him yet again soon... I hope he tells it straight to her once again, both barrels.

Exactly Tracy has actually murdered someone Phelan hasn't all he has done is relieve a few dimwits of some cash,

And let's not forget David who has got away with hiding the body of Callum who his wife bludgeoned to death, planned the murder of Clayton which endangered the life of his own daughter and injured a neighbour, so ripping off a few people is child's play compared to that

Phelan's vile but that just shows what a good job Connor McIntyre's doing that he can make you feel like that. Last weeks eps he's been particularly outstanding with plenty more drama to come I'm sure.

I agree but IMO a story line where people are conned should have an ending where the perpetrator has to pay. I am aware its only a soap, but sometimes in soaps crimes and murders are depicted as being ok which to me are not.
