I make Michael the 4th husband that has died whilst still married to them.

Gail must be the unluckiest wife in soap history. I can't think of any other character to have lost so many partners.

Yep, Gail's "Black Widow" Platt has seen another one off...

I really hope this is the last though. Surely by now she deserves someone to last at least a decade or more. Everyone also seems to be dead within 18 months.

I'm not sure but at least Martin Platt is still alive for now.

Yes I thought that when Les Dennis returned it was to be here for a few years. I know he's not a strong actor but I actually like the dynamic and relationship he had within the Platt family. He got on well with David eventually and he had some nice scenes with Max.

I don't know if he wanted to leave or was axed, either way I think its a shame.

I thought the same to be honest, don't mind his acting there are worse soap actors out there.

He has been cast in a musical with Samantha Womack (Ronnie Mitchell -EE) so at least there is life after Corrie.

I think he chose to leave and hoped the character would be kept alive, but they decided to kill him. Pity they didn't leave the door open, frankly it is ridiculous Gail is widowed again. It was silly when Joe was killed and it is even sillier now.

Michael could be quite wet, but I did feel bad for him in his final moments.

Another dead husband for Gail and another tragedy for the Platts in as many months.

As far as I'm concerned, the Platts are now a spent force on the show.

I dunno the last two interviews I have seen he has said how much he will miss it how great the crew are etc etc. Maybe he wanted more time off but wasn't allowed

It probably would have been better to have Gail come to her senses, realize she's been a simpering idiot over the man who burgaled her house, throw him out and have him drive off into the sunset in that stupid ice cream van...

They have been overused but I still feel there is mileage left in them.

CS really is only on top form when the Platts take centre stage IMO. Its just the nature of soaps today. At least the death of Michael is realistic, a heart attack from someone who had a known condition and got himself into a situation due to meddling in someone else's affairs.

This is nothing like the demise of any of Gail's previous husbands.

I'm still a fan of the Platt's particularly Sarah (my favourite character) and Bethany.

I'm indifferent to Gail, Audrey and Nick with the only one I'm not a fan of is David.

Steve has had nearly as many wives (six) as Gail has had husbands. None of them have died though, which might be worse - they could all turn up again

I still think Gail and Brian shouldn't have remarried they only did it for Nick and Sarah there was no romance between them in the last year of his life during their second marriage.

As long as it's not a returning Martin or Gary who already has Sarah and Bethany after him then I don't mind.

Now that would be something well worth watching!
