Awful guest singers!
I thought most of the guest singers for any Strictly series were pretty bad (a lot of them seem to be over-the-hill preformers well past their best), but It Takes Two is picking worse ones, and we don't even have the consolation of pretty dancers in the front to take our minds off it! Oh god, tonight was awful.

They need some more younger bands/ singers that appeal to younger audiences. The only ones that I like have been The Vamps and The Overtones on ITT

I'm fairly sure UB40 hate isn't something that's exclusive to young people.

There's absolutely no necessity to have any singers on ITT. They're just there to fill out the time, just like much of the trivia.
I mean how much actual training footage is shown? You'd think from the length content, how the dancers are progressing is considered of the least interest to the the viewers. As for quizzes? The programme is more about getting people to watch...well something...on a BBC channel between 6.30pm and 7.00pm. The BBC obviously think too much training footage would have a lot of people switching channels and given the demographic of people watching BBC 2 at that time of the evening, they are probably right. |

Shalamar were a major band in their day, maybe their singing is past its best but appropriate to feature a great dancer on ITT ; Jeffrey Daniel(s) did invent the moonwalk or maybe develop it (a form of it was seen many years before he did it (Bill Bailey 1955, Youtube) and taught it to Michael Jackson.

Over thirty years ago. How is the moonwalk relevant to a ballroom dancing show? There's no need for a live group on ITT. |

I think they should invite Vic Reeves as the Club Singer. Not only that, but they should have made someone vaguely pretentious like Artem dance to him. With Fern.

Craig has sang on ITT in the past. He is quite a good singer. I suppose if they are having a singer on in the Friday show as they have more time to fill, alot will be tied up doing things. Also they may only get or have a few minutes to do a song. Not as much promotion for it as they would have been on the main live show.

Ah! You'll be one of those young people I hear so much about (and not in a good way!) then?

Very good point - I'd rather watch longer training videos and more depth analysis than having singers and quizzes!

The worst on ITT this year was Daniel O'Donnell!
I don't mind stripped down reggae, two tone, or even dub so I didn't mind UB40 and I thought Ali whatshisname still had his voice. It was far too basic though for ITT. Shalamar had two main singers and one was still good, the other less so. |
