I doubt it, he only really did it last time ss a favour so they could generate publicity for the 50th Anniversary and introduce James Roache for a longer stint.
From what I can make out. He lives in America now and is a regular, so under contract on .Vikings'. The last stint managed to fit in between him leaving Law and Order and starting his next job.
Fictionally it wouldn't really make sense either as they didn't like each other and weren't really interested in establishing a relationship.
I could see James showing up again some time.
