Lee's been a marmite character but it seems the writing under SOC has change viewers opinion of him, should he be given a reprieve?

That's a good description and I didn't like him at all but these last few weeks I've really warmed to him and felt for him, I want to give him a big hug

Nah, the less Carter's the better.

Yes defiantly, dunno why he axed him in the first place, it was dumb if anyone should have been axed its Tina or Johnny .

I'm sure I read that the door is being left open so maybe they could bring him back sooner rather than later.

I've always liked him, but it is a typically rushed decision by SOC so not surprising.

Yes, at first I wasn't bothered about him being axed, thought he was a boring character, but now I really like Lee and feel so sorry for him, it's the story line that's done it, Lee has become interesting now.

It's annoying when characters become interesting just before they exit. The same happened to Paul.

No, he can't go soon enough as far as I'm concerned. Wish he'd take Whitney with him too.

I like the character and the actor but want him gone on the basis that he is apart of that excruciating Carter family.

Bring him back in a few years time maybe but there's only so long that a full-on depression storyline can run for before it starts getting tiresome and repetitive, even if it's done as well as this one has been.

If he walks then yes he could come back. If he commits suicide then...

I'm going to speak on behalf of the people on the "Lee Carter has a great bum" thread and say his arse should be given a reprieve. I'm personally not crazy about his bum nor his character but I'm always considerate and supportive of the views of my fellow forum members. In short: get rid of Lee but keep his arse on the show.

No he can't leave soon enough for me. If only he would bring Whitney with him.

He can have a reprieve only if another Carter is swapped with him.

A life for a life. Mick the Prick can leave instead!

No - simply because any sympathy I feel for the Character is based only on the last few weeks which are obviously part of his exit story.

Before this the character lacked any real development - even his original depression storyline was poor and didn't add any depth to Lee.

Unfortunately, we've seen this with all of DTC's characters - they aren't fully rounded people (except Mick and Linda and maybe Babe), just one dimensional cut-outs/placeholders/ticks in the diversity boxes - for example Donna is disabled, Kyle is transgender, Paul was gay.

I like your thinking. But how would you get rid of him though?

Maybe Mick watches one of Danny Dyer's movies and shoots his own brains out in pure disgust?

This. Some sort of murder-suicide situation would do. Anything that guarantees they don't come back, really.

I am just joking . Sorcha knows that. She's always been understanding about my urge to crack a joke at any given opportunity. .

T.K does not run, I'm a lover, not a runner. She can chase me upstairs all she wants .

He needs to leave already, annoucing his exit then drawing it out.

Perhaps the knowledge and context of a character's exit causes a creative burst amongst the writers? As it does seem to happen a lot with departing characters this phenomenon of becoming better and more engaging as your heading towards the exit door.
