Definitely, but so were Louise and Claudia...

Edit: and arguably to a lesser extent Danny too

I don't see any "picking on" Ore. There are people who like him and people who don't.

Personally what I see of his personality on the program grates on me and I think he is too hyped and favoured. This is something that developed from the start of the series, because for the launch I had him down as someone I might like and I was surprised to feel the opposite.

I don't agree with the judges' comments about his dancing for the most part.
If you want me to go through, dance by dance, and point out the issues I see and the problems I have with their comments and marking, I can. But I suspect that wouldn't accomplish anything.

You have your opinion, others have theirs.
Agreed. My friends feel the same about him also.

As was Danny, who went wrong with his hands during the swivel section.

Yes, though they had nowhere to go after overmarking Claudia, so in the context of the leaderboard it's right.
The marking this evening was all over the place for all the couples, but the board itself is pretty much the order it should be imo.
This. Ultimately the actual scores don't really matter, as long as the leaderboard positions are roughly where they should be. Blackpool scoring is always a law unto itself.

Yes he was overmarked. His head was weird and the dance was too skippy. Louise, Claudia and Danny also overmarked. Ed undermarked as usual

However their positions were about right on the leaderboard so i don't really have a problem with the scoring.

Would agree with those saying everyone was overmarked. Didn't love Ore's routine but didn't totally love Danny's either (although he def deserved to be top), wasn't fond of the stair and swish paso, thought Cloudia really struggled... Not a vintage night. Thought Greg was best in terms of keeping up previous personal standards.

Vastly overmarked it was the worst dance of the night for me ( Ed Balls doesn't count in my book)

it was the best dance of the night by some way in my opinion, the only one that managed not to be muddled or obscured by the backing dancers, and made best use of dramatic potential, given its an entertainment show not a purist competition. great choreography, well danced.

I was surprised at his 10s but I was also surprised at Claudia's score. It wasn't a 'small' mistake, it was blatantly obvious. She kept losing her balance too and looked totally lost.

Yeah he was overmarked, but Claudia was very badly overmarked for going wrong, bad jive action and just a clumsy and messy dance, to get four nines is crazy, they had nowhere to go.

Danny was also over marked as there was slight mistakes with the side by side with Oti and a couple of timing differences between the two of them.

But, hey, that's Blackpool, see Abbey Clancy QS!

As Claudia was over marked then Ore was marked OK. The leader board was in the correct order - including the Ore/Louise tie.

Completely agree.

The scoring of the top dancers was inflated madly mind, but compared to the others he wasnt' overmarked at all.

Danny's competent backing dancer role, though, arguably, WAS, even understanding that.

Spot on. Routine of the night - absolutely bloody gorgeous, oozing with class.

I like Ore - I gave all 3 of my online votes to him last week - but I do think he was overmarked this week.
His dance was the dullest and least engaging of all the dances tonight imo. ( Claudia's came a close second )
They were all going on about his marathon fleckal. Okay, it was sustained but it was far from smooth and he looked like he was going to throw up throughout.

Mmm.. don't know about that. I think L & K should have been marked higher than O & R, even if the difference was just for Kevin's outstanding choreography.

Change the thread title to 'Why was Everyone overmarked?'
I really don't get this constant Ore bashing. Yet again, a tunnel visioned original post that only sees overmarking for one 'special' person, with the OP covering eyes and ears and wilfully blanking out the possibility that there was overmarking of other dancers.

I feel Ore has been consistently good throughout the series, makes it all look natural and effortless, brings the right amount of characterisation and fun, what's not to like? Genuinely puzzled

Claudia was really brave and kept going strongly but her jive felt a little de-energised and disjointed. I think the judges were rightly generous to her. Music was wrong. Staging was distracting. But if Claudia got nines, Ore deserved his tens, especially balanced by Craig's prob too low eight. Jo's choreography was fab and Ore was sooooo cool and good. It was a proper performance.

Really pleased for him and Jo. (And glad the judges were kind to Claudia)

If Claudia got eights, nines for Ore. That's just how it goes...
Claudia was poor, her shoes were not right.

Ain't that the truth.

Ore did well, and was marked accordingly to the mad overmarking that was going on for all of them exept the ones the ptb seem to want to get rid of.

agreed. it was blackpool scoring - 20% extra free to match the size and grandeur of the venue and occasion.

Serious question, why does the forum always pick on Ore? Everyone was overmarked. Danny most of all. Well, apart from Ed. He deserved better than Craig's four IMO.

What is it about Ore, I wonder?
Bib . Now now Dervla .

Well the thread title is about Ore so for me it's fine to say "yep. Overmarked" .
I like the guy , but tonight his routine was very weird and he seemed to have his eyes glued to the ceiling , yet kept his head quite level . For me it looked creepy , like he was asking God's help . I just didn't like his performance

I was so surprised when the 10s came out! Didn't agree at all.

He has been overmarked every week.
I agree. He definitely appears to be the judges 'darling'.

I like him in his day job. I just don't like the way he is pushed to the fore every week on Strictly.
