Danny was also over marked as there was slight mistakes with the side by side with Oti and a couple of timing differences between the two of them.

But, hey, that's Blackpool, see Abbey Clancy QS!”

I saw that again the other day. One word - gapping

Yes, he was vastly overmarked. I was underwhelmed by his dance. Didn't deserve 38 points at All!

The sad thing is I really liked him before he did SCD now I find it hard to look and listen to his simpering after the dance. I can't watch him on ITT either. Perhaps he has been taking acting lessons but missed the lesson where they demonstrated how to be gracious when receiving praise.
Sorry but he is so OTT for me to handle, he might be lovely off screen but sadly OTT when the lights are on him.

The only ones I don't think were overmarked were Greg and Ed. I'm sick to the back teeth of seeing Judge Rinder doing flips.

To answer the thread title, yes he was. I really don't enjoy watching him dance.

This is all totally fair and I agree completely. However, now that the topics have been broached... ()

a) absolutely correct- they marked Claudia too high and had nowhere to go.

b) Ore's been consistently overmarked. Not his fault - he's good. Just not as good as the show would have him be as a rival to Danny.

c) yep, last year's series had better pasos, jives, VWs, charlestons (and tbh there's been at least one better paso this series as well) but comparisons are odious.

Yes, but not nearly as overmarked as Claudia. Only a little overmarked.

Even Craig got Darcey to admit his posture wasn't right in the results show, and was basically saying she shouldn't have given a ten as a result.

I honestly think this year has become ridiculous in terms of marking (maybe it has been for a while but it seems more obvious this year). Are the judges afraid of getting booed? I know Strictly is generally a positive, fun show, but they should really start with lower scores in the first few weeks, so that they can properly differentiate when we get to this stage in the competition.

Wha...? Ore got 10s? For what?
I watched his forgettable routine without judges' comments on YouTube and have no desire to watch it again. I guess I was supposed to be impressed with his longish fleckerl but I was bored.

Everyone gets overmarked in Blackpool. Everyone (including Ed & Greg) have been overmarked this season - I don't get why people are so desperate to push this idea that Ore is some sort of judges pet when, bar the two weeks when he was the best, he's not topped the leaderboard. But hey, I guess people like the 'my fave came up against and won in spite of the judges/production' angle regardless of facts/reality.

The leaderboard had everyone in the right position and generally has them in the right position every week...the individual scores don't matter.

maybe he forgot what he was supposed to be doing next and was told to keep spinning, shame Len wasn't looking at his feet, crossing in the wrong place all the time🙄😡

It's been like that for a good few years now, again, see Abbey Clancy's quickstep at Blackpool, she got three tens.

the judges were backed into a corner whether some like it or not Ore was better than Claudia who had received a 9 across the board hence the only place to go was 10

Then the question really ought to be why on earth did Claudia's really quite mediocre jive get so badly overmarked?

And again based on the dance off alone why keep her when Greg had improv d and she worsened ?

To my mind Claudia deserved no more than a 7 at least, leaving Ore an 8 for a VW which was lacking in choreography. Those scores would have been fair.

Since the judges insist on knocking points off for poor choreography 1 off for that and 1 off for head placement and feet, but add 1 for performance 8.

Totally agree. I thought Claudia, Ore and Louise were overmarked. I think the judges are marking them in the order they like to save them. Danny deserved top spot. Then when they do save their pick, they can always say we marked their dance higher.
I thought Greg was undermarked and danced better in the DO. I like Claudia and will be happy if she wins ( unlikely). I just don't like them having a DO and not going according to that.

they overmarked Claudia who was first out and they could only go up

I watch this show for the entertainment value knowing less than nothing about dancing but I have noticed it seems to be a weekly occurrence a couple dancing early get a high score and it seems to be the majority view (on here) that they are over marked therefore there is no room for manoeuvre later on from the judges if there are better dances

Besides, this year's judges' pet title is held by Louise.

I agree, he is a good showman which is making his dancing look much better than it is.
