To be fair, they could all could all come out and dance to Agadoo and it would still be miles better than the X Factor
True........

The only dance I liked was Danny's Charleston. It really was bad. I don't even think that it's the overmarking. Something just didn't work tonight. ....
I agree - get rid of the backing dancers and the backdrops which blend in with the contestants.

Didn't like much of the music and thought most of the dances were overmarked and pretty flat

The Blackpool week has been a disappointment for the past couple of years - to me at least.

Blackpool is the pinnacle of Strictly, it really is but agree that tonight's show wasn't great. I think that most of the dances didn't fill the huge dance floor very well, The space seemed vast and the extra dancers just seemed to get in the way.
The extra dancers always get in the way!... They are terrible....... I didn't notice that the dance floor was any bigger than usual.... I think they were having us on and it was all still in London......

Seriously underwhelmed. Wasn't mad about Claudia's Jive but it ended being one of the least bad things by the end of the night. Danny was obviously very good but his dance felt more like an interlude where a group of pros entertained the audience.

I don't know how much time they have to rehearse with the backing dancers and how much that adds to the nerves... I think the need to choreograph something 'big' doesn't always lends itself to choreography that helps the celebs. Some dances are difficult to make fill the floor without some odd shenanigans. I don't know. I just didn't like a lot of the choreo this evening.

Was explained on ITT on Friday with an interview with Jason.

I agree....only danny's charleston really lived up to expectations. Some of the overmarking (ore with a single 'fleckle',louise, even claudia this time), was ludicrous.

It was only 0.5 seconds out and only on Freeview HD, services like Virgin Media HD was spot on.

It was similar last night on Children in need, Freeview output has a slight issue, not SCD .

Perfect on 108 on Virgin.

I don't think it was so bad it's just that some of them overreached and the judges ignored it. I think it's good to try - even if you don't always make it.

It seemed to rush by and the show felt like it was over pretty much just after it began.

When you over hype you risk disappointment.
This sums it up.

Nobody delivered their best dance yet IMO (Danny came close but I preferred his AT last week), a few disappointments. Big production, extra dancers and loads of hype do not make the best show of the series.

I did think it was a good show, but not amazing!

I totally get that Blackpool ballroom is gorgeous, with all it's ornate finery and steeped in tradition, but somehow it never quite works for me. The sound never seems as good, and the pattern of the beautiful wooden floor seems to clash with all the lights, so it's difficult to see the steps very well. Glad it wasn't just me.

I enjoyed the show tonight on the whole. Yes, I agree with some other fm's that in some of the dances it was difficult to see the celeb/pro as the banking dancers and/or props/lighting/scenery got in the way. But I loved the opening number, thought Danny and Oti's Charleston was great and enjoyed Greg and Natalie's quickstep.

Live from the X Factor forums,

Tonight's SCD was fantastic.

I do not recognise any of these points are true in anyway whatsoever.
Do you ever criticize anything on the BBC or is it all perfect for you?

That's weird seeing as I don't even watch the X Factor!

You're hilarious ADP.

Blackpool never lives up to the hype. It bloody CAN'T, lets face it.

But I enjoyed it - tolerated the overmarking and enjoyed the flash.

I've seen worse.

I enjoyed the opening dance, Louise, Danny, Greg, and Rindy and felt Ore's routine at least had something about it. Twas enough for me.

Maybe you need to watch again they are definitely in Blackpool passed by the filming of the illuminated tram yesterday on my way home from work, someone I know saw some of them around Pleasure Beach for the filming and I saw the queue being shepherded into the tower this afternoon on my way home from town.

So most definitely in Blackpool plus I know one of the backing dancers and he is definitely in Blackpool for it.

I thought the camerawork was poor, there was a lot of hype, and the choreography with the dancers is bound to annoy many people. Despite that I thought there were a lot of good performances. If someone was to say that they were showbiz routines and not ballroom dances then I wouldn't argue.

Research. " search facility" - check My posts, even in the last week. Then you can say your incorrect.

So why are you defending it on this and the ratings thread with so much tenacity?

Glad you think I am funny, my jokes can be a bit Tony Blackburn.
