I thought he said that he was going to make it his own. It sounded just like Sam Smith's. He certainly loves his falsetto.

He did a great job I thought, only fault is that hiccup sound when he breathes between lines.

I've always seen him as a younger, poorer man's Matt Cardle though.

I though he sang the song very well, he can certainly sing.I just find him boring, he seems in my mind to have the X Factor won, and i reckon it will be Matt and 5Am as the final two.

Saaras a fantastic singer but not enough of a likeability factor for her to gain the crucial votes, Ryan and Emily are dreary and they will attract some vote but not lots. Honey G is gaining the novelty act vote at the moment, and should go soon.

He is shit, can't stand his voice, screams his head off, can't dance and I don't see how anyone find's him hot! He has bad skin awful teeth and hips as wide as a hippo.

They've attacked much better singers over the years, and in this current series, yet they praise Matt doing a karaoke version of Sam Smith and then failing to hit the high notes with his godawful falsetto.

TBH I don't know the song so I can't compare it to the original but I thought it was bloody awful. Can't stand that falsetto and had had the charisma of a paper bag.
The OTT praise is vomit inducing - he is as dull as ditchwater

so it might grow on you then if you listen to it again ?

Nice enough guy but really no better than Joe, Cardle or Leon and light years behind Shayne and McArthur which speaks volumes about where he's going post this years Christmas single retch-fest and the inevitable flopped first album and unceremonious dump a year from now

I've been heavily critical of Matt and his overexposure throughout the whole series, but I thought his performance tonight was good. He also sang a song I didn't particularly like first time round (Sam Smith's vocals tend to be quite shrill imo) so I wasn't expecting much, but I will give him credit.

It's just when he did the last line, his voice went into the weird pitchy thing where it sounds like someone has speeded his voice up. If he didn't sing like that, I'd probably enjoy his performances more.

BIB, I actually think that Matt did come close to actually getting his first moment of the series for me personally, however those falsettos (which I think is the part that you're on about near the end) are continuously a problem for Matt Terry at the lives as he can't do them, his voice actually sounded alot better when he was just singing normally.

He clearly likes singers with falsettos in them in his personal life, but it doesn't suit him and this particular song exposes that imo.
