I too think Rob will struggle with the rumba, if only because the judges make such a big thing about 'smouldering passion' and everyone knows from the start that he's gay. It's totally playing against type, unless they build his gayness (is that a word?) into the story.

Rumba for a difficult one for the Judge, not because of the dance itself, but because of all the 'raunchy' intense mood Strictly insist it's supposed to have. Still, I think if he can stay out of the b2 over Claudia, he's got enough support. Men rarely go on a rumba, so it's been said on here. All depends on the music.”

He said he wasn't looking forward to the rhumba in his Radio Times column. I know i'm sounding like a bitter conspiracy theorist but I think he's been thrown under the bus.

Realistically Robert was always likely to be in trouble this week anyway, now Greg's gone the only person he's consistently better than is Ed, and looking at what he's got left the Rumba is probably only the worst of a bad bunch. I'm quietly confident of this being the week Ed goes anyway.

The mention of Justin Timberlake did set alarm bells ringing, but I think if Claudia manages to get this right it could honestly be one of the stand-out dances of the series.

Assuming Ore having Paso as reported is correct, here's the updated list of what's left after this week:

Claudia & AJ - QS, Tango / Rumba, Salsa
Danny & Oti - AS, Tango, Waltz / Salsa, Samba [this week's dance unknown]
Ed & Katya - AT, Foxtrot, VW / Rumba
Judge Rinder & Oksana - AT, Tango, Waltz / Samba
Louise & Kevin - QS, Tango / Salsa, Samba
Ore & Joanne - AT, Foxtrot, QS / Samba

So both Rinder and Ore must be doing the Samba in the semis, assuming they get that far.

It is the week after the 'a-thon' that they do two dances isn't it??

Can't remember from last year

I think so.

They'll go to two dances at the semi-finals again, as they did last year. The schedules have just been released for the week after next and the show's only down to last an hour.

So the week after next is Musicals week perhaps?

With Will's departure buying them some breathing space I think they should really go to two dances from the quarter final stage; that way they'll fit all of the dances in instead of missing one off the list.

This week - one dance + group cha-cha

He always overacts and makes silly faces. That is not good in the rumba whatever mood they go for. I think he will be in trouble so should work hard on the cha cha.

I suspect that they keep getting modern pop songs because they are young and that is what they know and are choosing.

Yes Rinder does have good arms and hips but his facial expressions may be the problem. Daisy's rumba I found painful because of the model pout she had on throughout, and unfortunately he has a natural pout. For all Craig's comments about his expression not much he can do about it when it is the shape of his mouth.

I have read that AJ said in a radio interview that he's not choosing the music, he's given it by the producer. That's third hand, I didn't hear the interview myself.

Don't be so sure of that. The Waltz-a-thon saw a three way tie for third place, which ended up seeing second placed (overall) Pixie knocked out, even though she had won the Waltz-a-thon.

I wish they'd done this, but I suppose having two dances each during musicals week would have been a bit much.

The pros have said that they all discuss music with the producers who then tell the pros which music they will dance to.
AJ actually stated in one if those radio interviews that he would have preferred traditional music for their paso. But they got an upbeat pop song (from National Dance Day 2015. )

Honestly I think Ed having the Tango now is a great sign for him if he's the only one who has it. If I were a producer I'd be giving the ones I expected to make the semis the Tango now to avoid having to have three in one show further down the line.

I agree. It's another dance he can camp up to the nines (not that he'll get any) and play to his ability to be totally OTT. If he had a calmer ballroom dance, then he'd be in trouble. Much as I love Rinder, he is the obvious boot this week. Ed will go through on an outrageous tango, Danny and Louise will be safe, which leaves either Cloudier or Ore as DO opponents, and I can't see Rob outdancing either, particularly with the potential that they both have to be better than him. And potential is what got Cloudier through a DO in which Greg was clearly better than her hot mess of a jive.

No, but, I can see him out polling either of them in the public vote.

Latest update on What's Left Now:

Claudia & AJ - QS, Tango / Rumba, Salsa
Danny & Oti - AS, Tango, Waltz / Salsa
Ed & Katya - AT, Foxtrot, VW / Rumba
Judge Rinder & Oksana - AT, Tango, Waltz / Samba
Louise & Kevin - QS, Tango / Salsa, Samba
Ore & Joanne - AT, Foxtrot, QS / Samba

So Danny must have a ballroom next week, and be doing the Salsa in the semis. I suspect/guess the dances each couple will be missing (presuming they make the semis) will be as follows:

Claudia - Rumba
Danny - Waltz
Ed - Argentine Tango
Rinder - Argentine Tango
Louise - Salsa
Ore - Foxtrot (could also see him skipping the AT)

Although now we only have a three-couple final, it will be interesting to see if they think to change the format of it at all.
