Was tonight the worst SCD ever?

(apart from the Series 12 final, of course, but that goes without saying)

There was clearly something very, very wrong tonight...
The entire show, from start to finish, was a complete & utter mess.

Absolutely nothing worked. NOTHING!

I really felt for Claudia & Greg - their dances could, and SHOULD have been dazzling, but they were both hindered beyond belief by the extra dancers, the truly awful camerawork, the music... Oh my goodness.

Can ANYBODY tell me: What is the point of Danny Mac!? If I live for a thousand years (and so far, so good), I will NEVER understand his appeal. I just don't get it. It's bonkers. Same goes for Louise - it's like watching a slice of bread dancing. Where's the emotion? Where's the passion? The intensity? The sense of drama? The attachment? The interest? The spirit? The feeling? The... ANYTHING!?

Perma-grins. Fake tans. Ultrabright teeth. Botoxed to hell. Fake emotion. Who's buying this carp? Who do they think they're fooling? Themselves?

Tonight's show genuinely gave me a headache. It was painful to watch & painful to listen to. WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS!?

(Oh, and what a surprise - Danny & Louise are doing the tour... Wow! Who would have guessed!?)

Apart from all that, I loved it!

It didn't do very much for me.
I suspect that everyone north of Watford Gap will disagree, but In my opinion there is very little point in going to Blackpool.

I never enjoy the Halloween week or the Blackpool week. I found the backing dancers an unnecessary distraction, the judges seem to overmark at Blackpool, and the sound isn't as sharp as usual. Maybe you have to be there .....

I enjoyed tonight's show too John. Some couples didn't dance as well as I thought they might and other danced better than expected. Loved the opening number.

Disagree.

Fabulous show.

No, the worst episode was undoubtedly Series 2 Episode 6

Seriously, unless you watch them all again back to back from 2004, how can you possibly answer this question?

Looking at early series does look a bit stilted and lower production values than now, but that's to be expected as they didn't know how succesful it would be and it was still in the 'Come Dancing' mold (curtains, table seating, etc).

Agree.

The negativity here by a few always surprises me.

It was underwhelming but in no way was it the worst ever.

You didn't watch the series one final did you? That was just plain painful.

This was a good show, except for the sound problem on Freeview HD.

Freeview had an issue tonight and last night, I switched to Virgin Media HD and no issue.

Its really quite disconcerting that people who dislike the show sooooo much, watch it so that they can moan.
What is that all about?

I've yet to read that anyone has said that they dislike the show sooooo much.

I always wonder why people have to complain on a message board about others finding faults with a TV programme. I mean how much can it affect their opinions?

I'm sure like me, many who make a few criticisms, don't mind if some think programmes are faultless.
In fact I'd say it's more than don't mind, it's more like they don't care. Why should they?

You know what George V said about Bognor, don't you?

It'd be my answer to the suggestion to hold it there

They go to Blackpool because it IS the home of ballroom and is where many of the major international competitions take place. It's not like the are just rocking up in random seaside town just for the hell of it. The tower ballroom is stunning inside, although the town itself is an absolute shithole.

It's always a damp squib, because it doesn't really work in such a big setting like the Wembley shows didn't. Buts it's nowhere near the worst show ever.

I think you misunderstand message forums,

People have different " opinions".

One posts a negative opinion, another, " has the right" of response.

It's interesting a few regular negative posters, are quite taken aback, when someone posts back that they actually, " diasagree" with them.

Then they make it personal.

Basically a message forum is there for discussion and everyone will not agree.

Some posters seem to live here, others pop in as they have other commitments to work, and family, or hobbies. Others seem to try to be provocative, seem to fish for responses. Seem to be happy if someone is hooked on a provocative post.

In a SCD forum you would expect most posts to be positive not negative as these posters care about the show, they will not be interested in posting if they do not watch.

You just agreed with someone who replied "Disagree. End of." - which seems like they can't accept the OP's opinion.

But NOT on that post. In the quoted post I had a slightly different opinion to that particular post but yes they agreed in my own opinions earlier.

I've mentioned several times about some posters getting unnecessarily personal.

I've also mentioned people who make "sweeping statements," with no evidence to back it up.

You're one of them. Read the BIB in your last paragraph.

Read through a few threads, only a guess but I'd suggest that there's as many critical as complimentary.

Why don't you just watch another channel if you hate it so much. Why bother watching? What a downer
