Like the title says . I hope somebody organises a huge campaign to push Ed over the winning line .
Time to mark the judges and producers cards that the public are tired of being manipulated by Producers shoving ringers down our throats and judges playing along with it . 😈 💃 Vive la revolution .💃 😈 |

Hahahaa I loved that RATM campaign. Been a fan of theirs since the first time it was released.
Been a fan of Ed since.....well week 2 of SCD. He was our neighbouring MP and nobody liked him. Weird how things change. |

Who are we raging against ? Did anyone see that taekwondo guy on Strictly for Children in Need ? He would have immediately been labelled a "ringer" but he was just a naturally brilliant dancer. Well, as far as I know he hadn't had any previous experience anyway.

Weird how things change. .It will be bad enough tomorrow(Sunday) if he gets through Blackpool , but if he won the series it would make the Brexit and Trump results look like a squabble in a kindergarten over the Lego . Heads will be exploding and dance purists will be burning their dance shoes in protest up and down the land .👠👟👞 To misquote Robert Duval , "I love the smell of burning leather in the morning ." My promise ⏩⏩ If it happens I'll even indulge in some phone votes on top of my online allowance . |

No, it would be too much in one year. Never mind Brexit and Trump, we've lost Bake Off to those oiks on some channel with adverts as well !
Besides, it would be just before Christmas..think of the children ! |

Irish dance was considered too parochial for kids to be bothered with unless the mums had been dancers in their yoof ------- till Riverdance . Then it exploded .Not literally obv . It's calming down a bit now but still hugely popular because the kids all visualise themselves being head hunted by Michael Flatley and touring the world . And lots do . Just think, we could be encouraging a whole fresh crop of potential pros for Strictly 2026. |

Martial arts seem to be good preparation for dance. When we get sutdents who have studied any of the disciplines for any length of time there are transferrable skills that you can work with and short cuts you can use to help them come on more quickly than most other students.
So put HIM in Strictly next year . I'm not saying make them all amusing , or over weight . All I want is genuine non trained people . I don't care if they are slim and gorgeous , or slightly chunky and plain looking . I want to see them on a proper journey . Some , like the guy you mention, will be fabulous . Some will struggle with even the basics , but they'll be starting from the same place , and ringers always get outed eventually so the taekwando guy would be fine if there's no evidence of past dance training other than as one of the wise men in his school's nativity musical .
I don't want them all like Ed. I just want real untrained humans prepared to give it a good go .
I agree to a point but I doubt they would be able to find enough celebs like Greg, Rob, Claudia etc in any one series . They will always have to include some showbiz people and they usually will have done some dance training in their schooling . |

There are lots of people on the telly who aren't stage school brats though and they'd take the hand off you for a fee well below what trained luvvies demand .I'm not against a purist Strictly to run in conjunction with a 'normal people' (no offense) one . There should be room for both, maybe one to follow the other and with shorter series . I just think that mixing trained with totally untrained is deeply unfair and that's why I'm voting for Ed time after time . Because he is totally untrained and totally up for tackling anything thrown at him . I like that Dunkirk spirit . (Again no offense meant comparing dancing to soldiering for your country .) |

They'd love it ! Pointing and laughing the first few weeks , then the penny dropping that " I could dance like that !

The comedy acts are just another form of producer manipulation. They shove a comedy act down our throats every year and the judges don't even need to go along with it.

Riverdance is great for the kids of today. They could probably do it sitting down and never have to look up from their smartphones.
But a whole generation of Ed Balls lookalikes ? Now you're really scaring me. ![]() Not hardly . I'd bet huge amounts that anyone who has been headhunted for the Riverdance touring shows could win Strictly in a heartbeat . Personality permitting of course .Those kids are hard workers . |

With the overproduction this year, I can sort of see the appeal of a vote for the worst style sabotage...

I'd be up for that if for no other reason than to vote against the blandness the show has become.
The Pro dancers are all bland (on camera anyway) (except newbie Chloe) ITT is the same Qs trotted out endlessly. Everyone's just having so much fun but finding it so hard but it's their favourite dance and they're training so hard. Compounded at Blackpool where we have to hear from celebs and dancers, what we've already heard about Blackpool every year for years. It's overproduced and nothing seems to happen naturally anymore. I don't know. It's just lost the ability to laugh at itself I think, and the dull contestants seem to enhance that. Ed (and at the start Judge Rinder) are the only surprise on this show now. It's boring when the ringers have no up and down to their journey whatsoever and just turn up and turn in great (if a little dull at times) performances. |
