Rider to effeminate in some dances, Claudia seems to lack any connection with AJ he is just the dance prop, at least there is some connection between Ed and his partner that puts a smile on my face wish Claudia did but something missing there
Goodness me if we're dismissing people because their dancing is too effeminate Ed would have been out the door weeks ago...

I love Danny but I think I love twinkly eyed Ed a little bit more .. Len's swansong
^^^^^ This. And, unlike Danny, Ed never performed on stage as a professional dancer. He has worked every week and improved every week. I love Danny's dancing, but would prefer Ore to win, since he was never a professional dancer.

Like the title says . I hope somebody organises a huge campaign to push Ed over the winning line .
Time to mark the judges and producers cards that the public are tired of being manipulated by Producers shoving ringers down our throats and judges playing along with it .
😈 💃 Vive la revolution .💃 😈
i'm in

We have to keep Ed out of the D/O every week though, 'cos the judges will boot him out. Would love to wipe the smiles off their faces

Does Ed need a boost to his already oversized ego? I think not.

Ed already has a chance at the win imo but if he is going to win then at least let it be fairly done and not through a manipulated campaign, once that happens I will not be watching strictly again. I am really sick and tired of these social media campaigns infiltrating our entertainment shows and ruining them, strictly is the only RTV show I still watch but I have to admit that this season has not been great. The manipulation from the judges and producers has significantly increased and tbh I belive it to be in favour of Ed just as much as some of the others......It's so unfair against all the other dancers and Pro's who have all worked long and hard to entertain us.

I don't really mind this year who wins tbh, If you love watching Ed then vote for him but let it be a fair win and not manipulated by social media. Strictly imo will be a much poorer show should such a campaign succeed.

I love Ed but let him take his chance with the rest of them. I'm rooting for Ore now who is also a beginner. I don't think he gets nearly enough appreciation.

Rage against the machine was against x factor winners dominating the Christmas chart wasn't it? Great campaign. But Ed Balls is very much a part of SCD and I bet the producers can't believe their luck he has turned out to be so entertaining.
I have a theory that Cowell is keeping that awful Honey G in X-Factor as long as Ed is still in Strictly.
Somehow he equates her as being an "entertainment / novelty act" in some way IMHO.

As X-Factor has to finish a week earlier than Strictly, then if Ed gets to the Final
(You can be sure the Cowell's minions look for the DS spoiler so they can fix their results accordingly)
....then Honey G will also be in their Final, but a week earlier - and may win it.

This would do 2 things.
1. Give the Xmas No. 1 back to the public as no-one will want to pay good money for her abomination
2. Ruin X-Factor forever - hopefully leading to it's cancellation

A "Rage against the Machine" campaign is a great idea - but please make sure you aim at the right target.

Ed for the Final - Honey G for the X-Factor Win

We will all be winners in the end

But Ore has advantages over Ed by being younger and fitter physically . As do pretty much all the rest of the contestants .
Ed is a one off and has amassed a huge following and lots of added interest in Strictly . He's probably the best 'pre assumed duffer' we've had in ages , so we need to strike while the iron is hot , we won't get an opportunity like this again . He can dance , so it's not like we'd be voting for a total duffer just to be eejits, and he works hard in training . He's not in it as the novelty act . That's the tag the producers and judges hoped to pin on him but he has shafted them by being rather good, very determined and not up for comedy unless it belongs in the dance .
Personally I'll be giving Ed all my votes in future if he survives tonight .

Ed is now best priced at 9/1 (7/1 by Paddy Power) to win Strictly. Ore is 10/1 and Claudia 12/1.
So there's obviously been some money wagered for Ed to win.
I can't see it myself, he has to avoid the bottom 2, otherwise he's gone. Then if he reaches the final there will be lots of new viewers who will appreciate the showstoppers by Danny.
Plus, is he really that popular ? He's still a politician after all, apart from maybe lawyers and estate agents that puts him near the bottom of professions in the public's affections.

I think Ore appreciates himself more than most of us could muster the enthusiasm to.

From the FAQ's on the official site
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/arti...mC/voting-info
Does the BBC receive any revenue from the calls?

No. BBC does not receive any revenue. Revenue from the calls (if any) goes to charity
Thankyou, that's interesting I had no idea. I'm surprised they say revenue (if any) goes to charity. You'd think there must always be some.

Yes...people are very quick to see manipulation when it's happening to other people but tend to have a massive blind spot when it comes to recognising how they themselves are manipulated.

We're all manipulated all the time by politicians, the media, adverstisers, TV programme makers etc.. The idea that any individual can magically conjure their thoughts and beliefs and attitudes and choices free of outside interference is laughable.
My cat can manipulate me so I'm a lost cause.

I just think that mixing trained with totally untrained is deeply unfair and that's why I'm voting for Ed time after time .
It has happened since Season One so it constantly amazes me that people bring it up time and again.

Must admit, the whole concept of Riverdance always fascinated me. The upper body almost motionless with all that going on down below. How did it originate ?
It's Irish dancing with a twist, created for the interval show in the Eurovision Song Contest when it was hosted in Dublin.

Not even the phone votes? Who does then I'm genuinely interested but about to go out so forgive me if I read the reply later. As a regular TalkSport listener where they sometimes deliberately wind people up to get people to ring in to help the coffers I assumed they'd get something from a phone vote? (I don't ring btw I switch over when they get too irritating)

The fact they don't profit may explain why it's such a short window? Plus the sunday show malarkey.

But even so voting equals public interest and I'm sure they don't mind that. I like Ed too, he's fun and been an amazing surprise but I don't believe the producers are not encouraging his stay every step of the way. It would be like eating the golden goose for Christmas!
There are no profits, the cost of the call is 15p, the same as British Telecom, who provides the independent third party voting service, charges for it.

Thankyou, that's interesting I had no idea. I'm surprised they say revenue (if any) goes to charity. You'd think there must always be some.
However, IF there are any profits i.e. from calls after the voting period's ended etc, they are given to entertainment related charities such as the Variety Club of Great Britain now as I understand it.

When SCD started the first show raised money for Sports Relief, then up to Season Five, the show raised money for Children in Need and calls cost 25p of which 12p went to charity and the rest to BT for providing the service.

Following the great Blue Peter cat naming scandal it was decided that only shows which were actively raising money as their primary function i.e. a telethon like CiN itself, could use a phone in to do so.

No, it would be too much in one year. Never mind Brexit and Trump, we've lost Bake Off to those oiks on some channel with adverts as well !
Besides, it would be just before Christmas..think of the children !
i think maybe all in one year is a great idea

Yeah the politician thing is a cross he has to bear in this competition .
Not only are politicians distrusted in general , but I think it is very very evident that a few people who rather dislike Ed's political affiliation are rather cross that he has come across so well . It shows how very divisive politics is and how intense and ridiculous some folk are about it , even in a silly Saturday evening dance competition . Just chillax and go with the flow .

On a separate point, was I imagining things or did the judges practically start rubbing their hands with glee when the last two to be called out were Ed and Greg and then when Greg's name was called out they looked gutted - or at least I thought they did

Go Ed!!!

Dancing was frowned upon so it was taken to the country roads where they had to dance on boards the size of of a table top.

I think

Personally I hope he's out as soon as, not because i think he's the worst dancer but because i think he's a big headed cretin.
You realise that saying that kind of thing is not only very unkind, but will galvanise support for him, which is probably the opposite of what you want.

BTW Go Ed and Katya

I don't have a problem with people voting for Ed if they like him but a mass campaign to prove a point to the producers is what I find ridiculous. Even more ridiculous cos it's obvious the producers want him to stay.

Quite! It's been many a series since I've seen anyone quite so camp on the dance floor.

As to the revolution. Nah. Would rather put effort into something that would have some real impact rather than all this for an entertainment show.

I haven't voted for Ed since before Halloween - and even then I gave him precisely two free votes in as many weeks - but all this Dahnce Purity pontificating and protesting is making me want to register about 15 additional BBC accounts so I can use them all to vote for Ed.
