Hi, tried to search for a thread on this but no luck. My question is this, on my older Humax HDR the file format was principally an TS file, I now have a Humax HB1000S that records to an external USB drive, the file appears to be split into two types and neither can be converted with the software I used on the older file types, it errors that either file type is audio? Does anyone have an understanding of how the files are constructed.

Thanks in advance

You cannot use the recording files externally from any of the 2nd generation Freesat + boxes, they are encrypted and there is no known way to remove the encryption. The earlier Foxsat-HDR recorded SD files without encryption and you could copy the recordings to a usb device.

You can use a second hard drive if you wish, it might be possible to use a powered USB hub to have two hard drives connected and switch between them. I don't have a HB1000S so can't test this for you.
