BIB: an irrelevant point.
Yougov give their questions to a sample of viewers who actually watch Strictly Come Dancing and these viewers are supposed to be a representative sample of Strictly viewers, so I wouldn't dismiss the findings.
And what about the number of views of the routines on social media? This is usually a close correlation with the figures and who ends up in the Dance Off.
Everything is indicating Ed Balls has middling popularity. I think the tide will increasingly turn against him in the next two weeks.
No, they are a sample of people who use YouGov - ditto any other interweb poll. The BBC doesn't publish voting figures for Strictly, any claims to know the number is bullshine.

The answer to the OP question is NO.
I supported Ed and brilliant Katya all the way while the less capable dancers were still around. Now that Greg is gone Ed's time is up. The remaining dancers are better and more deserving to advance.

Thank-you for seeing the light. Hopefully more Ed fans will start to think like you.

As an Ed fan, I have no intention of 'seeing the light' and will continue to vote for him.

No offence but that's pretty insulting.

I don't think Ed will win at all but comments like that will do the opposite. People don't like being told how to vote.

How is that insulting?

People can vote for who they like but I can still hope that people stop voting for Ed. It's just my opinion.

It's insulting because you're implying that your way is the only right way to think and that anyone who votes for Ed isn't merely exercising a different preference/opinion to you, but they're actually less enlightened / stupider than you.

There is no "deserves" to win. No one celeb deserves it any more than another. They have to earn our votes by entertaining us...whether they do that by good dancing, visible improvement from a low starting point, being an engaging personality, having a particularly enjoyable rapport with their partner or whatever - they're all equally valid.

Saying you hope people see the light is insulting. I can't believe you can't see it like that

If people find my comment insulting, so be it. I don't think my way is the only correct way of thinking. I just think that some of the celebrities have produced better dances so should progress further. Ed has had a good run but I think that he should go before a good dancer leaves.

Since when was that an insulting phase?

I just mean it in that sense that I hope that people change their opinions.

Your having a laugh I hope ... whats the alternative ... even one of the judges said the other night Danny was like a PRO ... he has not progressed through the show as he was already at a high standard. Everyone knows how much experience Louise had yet she is the blandest dancer on the show.

Its an entertainment show about learning to dance ... what is it about this people just cannot understand. If you want professional dancing go watch a dance competition and give us all a break.

I agree with that as far as the audience/voters are concerned.
Where it falls down, is the fact that in the ballroom, they are only judged by the four on their dancing. Two sets of values being used, hence the arguments.

I would agree with you if there were any consistency in the judging, or if contestants reliably received a critique on their dancing. But when we have Ed getting an 8 from Len for a Gangnam Style salsa and the entirety of comments for various celebs on some weeks have been along the lines of "you came out and gave it a go / you always bring the fun / O.M.G. / I'm not sure what that was but I enjoyed it" etc...I think my point stands in its entirety.

Some quite good dancers have already left.

Ed has just as much right to be there as anyone. He works as hard as everyone else, has made progress, and for many people has provided great Saturday night entertainment.

Someone like Danny, for example, has not shown as much progress in my opinion. He was as good in his first dance as he is now, and he should be good, because he already had a wealth of training and stage experience.

I like them both, by the way.

I haven't voted for him but I have thoroughly enjoyed watching him.

I'm kinda hoping he keeps on to the semi-final and that's his lot.

But if most viewers want him to win, then he should win.

Sorry, when the guy puts him feet down it is like a tsunami, too stompy.

Craig is the only one marking him like he deserves.

But the media bandwagon and hype machines have already made "the two unlikeliest winners in history of the X-Factor and Strictly in Honey G and Ed Balls" because it makes a great story of the "underdog".. and gives regular folk hope !

It is an entertainment show, not a serious dance show.. go to your local ballroom for that.

Every year I'm always glad when the celebrity who has outstayed their welcome finally leaves and it then becomes a proper dance contest. However, I feel differently this year. I think Ed is probably the best "weakest" dancer there has been in that I find him entertaining, it's not getting old, he's putting in a huge amount of effort and I can see genuine improvement.

Coupled with the fact that I'm finding the more talented celebrities very dull. I can't get excited about Louise, Danny, Ore or Claudia (although would choose Danny as my favourite if pushed). Each year there is usually a contender who I'm rooting for but this year it's Ed and Judge Rinder. If neither of them are in the final, it will be the most boring final ever in my opinion.

Well if you're going to use the Gangnam Style salsa as an example of consistency in judging, Ed did three perfectly good lifts and the 'jump over' move that if Danny or Ore had done (for example) the judges would have been raving about...but Ed? Not a mention
