The key word is "some" some do but some DON'T

I'm sure I read somewhere that they were friends before SCD started.

I agree entirely. quite sad that some people have to be so disrespectful.

I thought Natalie was far more upset than Greg.

He is far from pathetic, he's an Olympic champion! The celebs devote a lot of time and energy to it, very long hours some of them and obviously they are totally committed and absorbed by it and want to do well and improve. Lots of people have been emotional upon leaving. It's a big disappointment.

Why is it pathetic to show emotion? Personally I find it most endearing.

Yes, he is an Olympic champion and I love him for it and i have watched him over the years but to cry over some silly TV show is pathetic imo. Now if he had cried over not winning gold in Rio then I would have understood that.

I totally agree. It's very disrespectful to suggest that people can't control themselves and not be unfaithful. Plenty of people would never dream of having an affair.

I find it endearing too. What is wrong with people showing emotion? I have a soft spot for Greg as I have followed him as a long jumper for years, being lucky enough to see him in the London Olympics and the Anniversary Games 3 years in a row. I didn't think it was possible to like him any more that I already did but after tonight I do

Completely agree with you. Pathetic is not an adjective I would associate with Greg at all. He was 100% committed to giving his all to Strictly and was clearly hugely disappointed that he could no longer continue. Nothing pathetic about that.

I don't get that vibe from them. Natalie seems to have a little, innocent crush...maybe. Then again...who wouldn't dancing with that tall, ginger hunk

Or if they do that they act on it or incapable of stopping themselves.

Let us see you winning an Olympic Gold and Bronze medals ( plus many many more). Real men show their emotions, being a sportsman Greg has a certain work ethic as does Natalie being a professional dancer, they have respect for each other and a great friendship, in my opinion you are the one being pathetic.

Oh dear, dear. it's just a silly TV show, not the Olympics.

I like Greg and feel he has improved greatly. I think he was overwhelmed because he never expected to be so totally engrossed in learning to dance - something far from his comfort zone of athletics!
Natalie is a little too demonstrative but she obviously thought a lot of her celebrity partner.
I thought Claudia's routine was far too frantic and not her best. I was half hoping that Greg would be saved if I'm honest. But I love Claudia and I want her to win (against the odds) - and not least because I've got her in my gang's sweep 😁

Well, Greg's partner had a face like thunder every time they cut to her, until Greg and Natalie got eliminated, and then she started to smile. So, I think she will be relieved that they are no longer living in each other's pockets!

And, I can't say I blame her. I think I'd have felt a bit tense if I were the partner of one of that pair as well!
who, me?

Erm, she was actually wiping away tears at the end.

I watched his jumps in the Rio Olympics, you could see he was none too pleased coming third!

He didn't cry, but you can't have an emotional attachment with a sand pit.

Natalie hangs off nearly all her partners, that's how she rolls.

What absolute tosh! Gregs girlfriend Suzy has stated on many occasions that she adores Natalie and even has a little girl crush on her! They often socialise together with their partners. If Suzy had a look of thunder it's because she believes the judges have seriously under marked Greg for a few weeks now.

You don't do yourself any favours posting such rubbish.

Right, rant over.

Greg was interviewed before the series began and was asked about "the curse of Strictly". Greg replied that his girlfriend wasn't the least bit worried and wanted him to have an intense (I believe the word "steamy" was also used) working relationship with his Strictly partner as it might help him get further in the competition.

If you're invested in something and your emotions are highly charged the smallest thing can set you off. (I practically bawled when I got offered a Jaffa Cake at mile 23 in Dublin marathon when I was in agony). Greg has just had a knockback (even if it's just a TV show) and he's probably overwhelmed by what he's actually managed to do out of his comfort zone.

Mine neither. But my telly doesn't have the special filter that translates every vocal inflection and fleeting facial expression into a narrative of inner most thoughts.

Absolutely. And the show goes to some effort to ramp up the emotional reaction.
