Two thumbs up!
Just imagine what Katya could have achieved with a younger and more capable dancer (I don't question Ed's musicality but his weight impedes his progress)!

When he lifted Katya in that Amarillo dance. I thought he was going to drop her. It was genuinely worrying!

Well if it's suddenly changed then at least they are keeping their options open I suppose.

He shows no humility, which on these shows is extra points. I did like his enthusiasm, love Katya, but now bored of his (smug) face.

He's not even embarrassed to stay when good dancers go. Claudia Winkleman said to him, "Ed, you scored 23, it is week 9, on behalf of you and Katya what would you like to say to the viewing public', hoping, I suspect, that he would take the opportunity to apologise for still being there and plead with them to only vote for the far better performers. No such luck, he thanked them, said he was having a wonderful time, and told them he did not want it to stop.”

he isn't the best dancer, he knows that more than anyone BUT he is giving it 100% and dancing to the best of his ability

no-one can ask for any more from him, he is doing recognised steps and learning choreography that Katya is creating for him

well done Ed - you are doing great

EDIT - oh, and if "they" wanted him to win surely the judges would be "instructed" to give him higher scores he has been bottom of the leader board, every single week - the public are voting to keep him in and they must be voting in the millions!”

This is so true didnt think much of him before the show but he is a legend,he try's so hard each week

How can it be rigged when apart from one week Ed has always been the lowest on the leader board so can only be saved by the public vote. Oh silly me thats obviously rigged too.

Long live Ed”

Oh ello, you've not been about for a bit, hope all is well and the amount of Gethin on ITT is keeping you happy

Gosh how terribly awful of him to be doing the very thing he's signed up on the show to do.

Ed Balls is truly awful.

It never ceases to amaze me how people are so drawn to the underdog - even if they have no talent, no likeability and are renowned for being nasty pieces of work. People say Balls has improved a lot - he is still absolutely terrible; people say he tries really hard - sorry but how hard is it to pull a few comedy moves and put together a few basic dance steps, after a week of solid training?

On other threads, there is talk of voting for Balls just to spite others - it really feels as though this is the status quote these days, vote for an imbecile just because others will be wound up if you do. I am still trying to get my head around a buffoon called Trump being the next American president - if Balls gets voted through yet another week, I may just lose the plot!

Trump and Balls! Whatever next?

I usually end up getting behind one of the better dancers, but this year my two favourite dancers have been Greg and Ed, Louise has also grown on my quite a bit. Ed is the dancer I look forward to watching the most every week, I think Katya has done a great job with him too and is an excellent addition to the show. Where I work a few people have said it's not fair that he's still in, this puzzles me greatly, he's only doing what's been asked of him, the public are voting for him. I don't think he will win, and I'm really not bothered one way or another, but if he does win it's because he has had the most votes and will be the deserved winner like all the others before him. I dread to think about the abuse he would probably got on social media though!

Exactly my point - he could win because he gets the most votes from a voting public who either want to annoy others by keeping him in, or actually enjoy his farcical dances which still 10 weeks down the line have so little dance content it's unjust to call them a dance. NOT because he DESERVES to win. Majority vote doesn't equate to that - do you feel Trump deserves to be president, just because there are sufficient racists and narrow minded bigots In Anerica that voted for him?

The winner is whoever receives the most votes, unless you start mixing up opinions with actual facts.

The person who deserves to win is the one the public votes for, that's the nature of the show and has been since Series 1.

Exactly!

I've never understood anyone who argues otherwise.

In a way series 1 summed it up. The final had a good dancer and a duffer, both entertained for different reasons, and in the end the dancer won!
What name??

The only two performers that don't comment on the ones that came in with no dancing experience are the two dancers Louise and Danny Mac ! The others all say that Ed is a dancer and continuously gets marked down in particular by one of the judges ! only Danny Mac who was only concerned even on the dance off was his perfect 40 ! Louise is good but seems remote! All the others say to lay off Ed as they can see he can dance !
It will only be a fix if Danny Mac wins or Louise ! They have to show improvement week on week from the beginning! Rob Finder is the only one with work commitments and less practice time! There are two or three with character let's hope a dancer before the programme doesn't win it and that teens don't carry Danny through! At least Louise is older and further from her career !

I recon he is a goner for sure this week. He has been really entertaining, but it is now time for the dancers to take over. I will no longer be voting for him.

Don't quite agree with ths!!

In no way does Ed deserve to win but I will be really happy if he does!!
Alternatively Danny has been the best & most consistent dancer all series so obviously deserves to win & if he does again that's fine by me!!

I can't comment on Louise, but I have certainly heard Danny Mac speaking in support of Ed.

Just as Louise and Danny attended dance classes in their younger years, so, I believe, did Judge Rinder when he was with the National Youth Theatre.

Always a comedy routine so he can't be marked on dance skill but just clowning about.
Fun,fun,fun .”

I'm feeling that way too and am fed up with almost every chat show - and even the news - promoting Ed. More exposure than when he was in politics!

I'm switching off if he gets through this week! Don't want to watch any more comedy routines - I watch Strictly for the DANCE!!!!
