....Quite taken by their drummer!
Me too - only good thing about last nights Simple Minds performance. I was really disappointed.
I thought Rick Astley was miming though so not sure he really was much better -though the dancing to his track was well worth watching

I guess that's what being Liz Jones' (alleged) "Rock Star" lover for three years does to you...
LOL, is that who it was ?! I used to read that back in the day when I bothered to read newspapers. I always assumed it was made-up !

It was a rotten act for the Blackpool show (any show really).

The budget must have been really tight.

Who can say. They both denied it but the rumours persist...

I don't mind if he doesn't look like he did 35 years ago, but I do mind that the music has changed so much. If it was a promotion attempt for Simple Minds' upcoming tour, it backfired horribly. I was a big fan back in the day (saw them at Hammersmith Odeon in the 80s, Milton Keynes Bowl and Wembley). I count 'On the Waterfront' and 'New Gold Dream 81, 82, 83, 84' amongst my favourite songs of all time. Do I want to pay to hear them several decades later, having been re-mixed and adjusted, with all the spirit sucked out of them? No thanks.
