Another week, another average dancer voted out and yet more outrage... meh.

I think Greg did really well this week but I'm delighted Claudia is through and am quite shocked that people are actually unhappy with that result!

If you go by conspiracy theories apparently Claudia is doing the tour and Greg isn't

Yep. I was stunned he didn't get save votes across the board last week, dunno what Craig was watching.

Bruno voted for Daisy last week I think.

Why do the judges keep up the pretence that they judge on DO alone when they so obviously do not?”

Because if they didn't then nobody would vote. They have to have at least some pretense that it's the public's choice.

So blatant you wonder why they bother trying to explain the decision.

Claudia could have made a complete mess of it and Greg danced like a pro and he still would have gone.”

True. The fact is the powers that be don't mind the public's decisions...up to a point, but they had to eventually introduce the dance off to avoid another Widdy wipeout. They say they're judging on one dance, but yeah, of course they're not. They're thinking of the whole show and most people know it.

Isn,t that just James Jordan suggesting that? But if there us any truth in that the Beeb need to hang their heads in shame

I dunno why I put Craig. Force of habit I think.

Thought Claudia's was tougher choreography (and terrible music for a jive), but she didn't dance it well either time and was way overmarked on the main show leading to some pretty serious overmarking of others later on. Greg showed the character of the dance much better albeit with an easier routine. On the DO alone it would have been tough to choose between them. Might have picked Greg for improvement.

I'll be extremely surprised if she's doing the tour. She's started her gymnastics training again for competitions that will be going on from the beginning of next year so I can't see how she'd be able to do it.

That's rubbish the DO came into prevent people like Spoony being evicted too soon and in truth you don't know who is has saved. It's not without it's flaws - cough Lisa cough Snowden but on the whole I'd rather have it than not. Claudia shouldn't have gone it should have been Ed but much as it's sad to lose Greg it's got to the stage where after two consequentive appearances in the DO the writing was on the wall.

If you believe they judge on the dance-off alone then you must never have watched the show before...and if you take everything you see at face value with this show then you really do need to think again...

The whole point of the dance-off is to ensure that there are still decent dancers left by the business end of the competition, and it generally serves that function pretty well.

Daisy's doing the tour and they cut her over Greg when they easily could have saved her, so it's not a terribly consistant conspiracy theory.

The only thing with Spoony was, would he have lasted past that week anyway had Jimmy stayed in? I had my complaints about a couple of results in that series (mainly wondering who the hell was voting for Claire King) but I never really thought Spoony was eliminated unnecessarily early, although I'm glad they got rid of the awful split they had back then where there was elimination from week 1 and the sexes were split.

Might be rubbish, might be not, I dunno. It's just my opinion that the show wanted to have a bit more control over who stays or goes and in order to sell it to the public and not diminish their votes they tell us that it's based on one dance. As I said I don't believe that it is based on one dance, but hey I could be wrong.

I don't care anyway as even if I have a favourite (and I don't this year) I think that you can generally read the signs and usually tell when your faves time is up.

Yeah I never really think the "tour" theory holds out when Scott Mills did the tour.

Yes Greg danced it much better, Claudia is a better dancer overall though that Jive was a total mess both times she danced it. I guess that Greg would have left next week if not this so it changes very little overall.

We've had decades -- 40 years -- of a politics that makes no sense (except to the very rich). In a way, I can't blame ordinary people. But still, bloody jingoistic arses

Unfortunatley there is only Louise and Claudia left. They would not want only one female celeb left. Writing was was on the wall for Greg when he was in the DO.
