I'd agree with that. I've been supporting both of these dancers, but based on the dance off, I think Greg put in an assured dance and Claudia didn't.

I wasn't suggesting it was a "big deal" more a case that the BBC would consider it a "bad deal," if they were left with only one woman celebrity. Might have affected the ratings.

Not convinced I think they're more scared of not being seen to be politically correct.

I've just got round to watching the results show and I am stunned to see that all judges favoured Claudia. Both of us (experienced dancers) would have saved Greg without even thinking about it, Claudias jive was no good at all.
I don;t know what was going on here, but totally the wrong result

Best dancer in dance off sent home because of perceived future potential/better past dances

I suspect you are right but there is no point having a dance off, and / or calling it a dance off if you are not judging and basing your opinions on those dances in the dance off.

Still its happened before and I expect this won't be the last time either. Greg was not a particular favourite of mine but he was certainly better at his QS than Claudia at her jive.

Greg had a very good run - I was quite surprised how well he performed his dances, but he hit his peak weeks ago.

It was the right decision.

I am happy for Claudia to win, but she made mistakes in the main show and in the DO.”

Not the lowest scored couple from the judges, but the lowest scored when combined with the public vote, which is what they used to do and avoided these stupid rigged dance offs. They are not supposed to send through the better performer overall, but the better performer in the DO. Otherwise, there is no point at all in dancing again. I don't think it makes for good TV anyway - why do we want to see the worst two routines again anyway?

When someone has hit their peak isn't the point of the dance off decision. The point is to watch the dance off and decide based on who danced better in the dance off.

I think Cloudia is used to a floor with 'give' anyway (if not to the extent of Blackpool). I believe that the floor in competition routines has give as well.

Not always, some of them on the Sunday circuit are like dancing on concrete, not good for your legs or feet at all

Greg should have stayed in, but obviously the beeb weren't going to want a complete sausagefest for the next month so Claudia was saved.

Funny how they don't mind it the other way around. Wasn't Jay the only guy left by this point last year?

Peter Andre went out in week 10 then yes, Jay was the only bloke left.

Because it was demanded by 'the audience' to prevent 'mistakes' in eliminations. It's not usually the two worst routines anyway. Very often it's not even one of the worst routines.

To a much greater extent than Blackpool. The floor in gymnastics is heavily sprung to absorb the impact of athletes landing somersaults from great heights.
