Danny and Oti's "Training" footage
Dunstan
20-11-2016
So here's the instrumental music backing Danny's time as a waiter in a chip shop.
And here's the same music with with lyrics.

Did the person in the editing suite:
a) Not know what the music was, or
b) Know but consider it was no problem, jaunty tune, or
c) Know and use it for a dare, or
d) Know and use it to express displeasure with someone in the Strictly organisation?

Am I over-analysing?

B) I'm guessing.

It's also the instrumental to the Neighbours theme tune.

I don't think it is the neighbours theme...

Yup! A 'safe' version with the f-word omitted was played on daytime BBC Radio when it was in the charts and has been used in many programmes since. It's just library stock in the instrumental version. You may well be the only person on the planet to have given it any thought at all!

Agree with this for the most part.

Also library music, which typically has been bought with a blanket license, is often a "slightly tweaked" instrumental version of music heard on radio. The titles given to the music are often quite similar too - plays on the titles. This allows tv/radio companies to use something that sounds familiar to viewers/listeners but isn't exactly the same and so is much much cheaper.

It's hard to tell because of the talking, but the music in the VT sounds as if it's had a couple of chords changed and while very close to the original isn't identical (I mean in ways besides the vocals missing). So it might not even be the instrumental that was on the radio.

Editors/producers really don't have much time to turn this stuff around so I imagine the person who cut it just grabbed some "jaunty" music off the server that holds the cleared music, stuck it in the VT and didn't give a thought to the original.

OP you are WAY over analysing this!

I like the video though. From now on I'm going to imagine reaching out and tweaking the heads of anyone who annoys me.

When I heard the music in the background, I thought surely not.

Lily Allen, magnifico.

Apparently this was written for George W Bush.

From the title of the Lily Allen version I thought it might have been written for Trump !

Lilly Allens song was sampled from the original Neighbours theme tune.
