Well, I'm sure SHE thinks she's very smart indeed but the reality is quite different. Nothing will ever persuade me that she is intelligent; she just does everything her overbearing mother tells her to. If she was intelligent, she would have ensured that her "legacy" of fame was something of merit - not the calamitous car crash which it is. I think she imagines that she is admired and respected but the fact is that she is ridiculed and regarded with utter contempt, aside from by people who are even dimmer than she is.
![]() Yes, she might well be famous and may be remembered in the future but it will be for all the wrong reasons. History will not look kindly on her - however, I'm sure the short-term gain will probably satisfy her fundamentally greedy instincts. Because of how dense and thick-skinned she is, she won't lose any sleep over the very negative public image with which she has saddled herself. ![]() And that's not because she's dense. Not everybody operates to the same values. And while it would be nice to think everyone holds her shallowness in contempt, the number of followers she has says different. |

Does anyone think there's any truth in the rumours that he/they staged the Paris robbery for the insurance?

I don't think she gives a flyin' fook what history will think of her. She's only interested in being noticed enough to make money.

Er, not quite. I don't give examples at all, let alone specific examples. Do you disagree that many of those touted as rather bright prove themselves in one way or another to be anything but? Do you disagree that there are several different kinds of 'intelligence', to such an extent, in fact, that using the words 'intelligence' and 'intelligent' is in some ways rather pointless? I rather think I know into what group you include yourself. And it does you no credit.
- some lawyers are thick; - some thick parents have intelligent children; - some intelligent children have stupid siblings. In summary, meaningless examples. |

Are they followers though? I'm sure a large percentage are actually bots. If she has the fans she supposedly has, why is KUTWK ratings at an all time low?
I suspect the current withdrawal from social media has more to do with her planning the next money making scheme rather than any trauma. She's been overexposed in all senses of the word recently. Some time off is needed to reignite interest. |

I don't know how many are real followers and I doubt her success will last forever. Sooner or later even the dumbest people will get bored seeing yet another pic of KK's arse. But she sure cashed in while the going was good

There are two points I would like to make: a degree (or here just two years of a college course) is no indication of an especial intelligence. I have met graduates who are as thick as shit and (in my line of work) non-graduates who are pretty bloody bright (and in some case bright enough to realise that a degree isn't always useful in some spheres. I think we seem to have gone - as usual - from one extreme to the other as far as a 'university education is concerned).
There are surprisingly many celebs - footballers, entertainers and circus clowns - who ahve a university degree. As for your suggestion that as Kim is the daughter of a lawyer, she must be quite bright, well up to a point, Lord Copper. She could be bright or not, but it will have little to do with her father's profession. PS I had only just posted the above when I came across this about West. And I doubt it was all just about the poor chap not getting enough kip. |

What is it with celebs always saying they have something wrong with them ? I'm sorry but it's hard to believe that all of these people are mentally ill.

My view is that the wife fed his already dodgy psyche by playing all her media games . He has always seemed a bit loopy but she is just machiavellian . Maybe he tried to out do her publicity machinations by planning the Paris thing . On the other hand maybe she set it up and it's all tipped him over the edge . Lots of rumours that they are skint, or at least living beyond their means . Who knows . |

The Chris Brown / Ray Jay song, Famous, might just have tipped him over the edge:
The lyrics (about Kim and her family) include: She f****d me for fame, look in her eyes/ She was the first one to sign on the line/ She was the real one to plan it all out/ Look at the family, they walk around proud/ All because she had my d**k in her mouth. http://www.billboard.com/articles/co...-famous-stream |

What utter nonsense!!
It has very little to do with genetics and everything to do with privilege. https://www.scientificamerican.com/a...ce-hereditary/ |

I suspect this breakdown is partially due to the fact that Kimye may be on it's last legs. As much as I dislike the Kardashian family/brand I think they gave this erratic and egocentric man some sort of stability and a taste of family life. If he senses Kim is withdrawing or wanting out - it is likely to tip him over the edge.
A marriage built on so much extravagance and publicity is always suspect. He treats her as if she's a doll he can dress up, bring out and show off on special occasions. Did Kris and Kim really think this narcissistic man would be able to reign in his huge ego and be there to cope with the dull, mundane and challenging times that make up so much of our married lives. They are a couple whose priorities appeared very superficial. Their need to flaunt their wealth at every opportunity was nauseating. I suspect there will be a lot of Schadenfreude amongst the public now - with many feeling a sense of pleasure at their demise. This is a sad state of affairs - but a human reaction to such a grossly flashy couple. |

Why? Celebrities are just as likely to become mentally ill as the average Joe. |

It's just the latest 'code'. Exhaustion, bi-polar and even Lyme disease are regularly used as reasons (excuses) to hospitalise celebrities who are off their tits and need some rehab. (I say all this as though it's gospel - I read it on the internet so it must be true

Lots of pontificating and philosophising going on here, with zero research to back it up. This article by a research professor at Kings College, London says that numerous studies have show intelligence to be 50% genetic and 50% environmental.
https://www.scientificamerican.com/a...ce-hereditary/ Genetically intelligent parents who've 'made it' are of course more able to supply the environment and means for their kids to thrive, but intelligence still has a genetic base. Otherwise why aren't all animal species equally intelligent? Their genes determine brain size, thought patterns, instincts as much as they do fur and feathers. Say intelligence (let's keep it one dimensional even though there are different kinds, the principles still apply) were rated out of 10. You can get up to 5 from genetics, and up to 5 from environment. An 8 could be a 5 and a 3, but someone who was a 1 from genetics could only ever get to 6 with a 5 from environment. As someone who has grown up usually scoring the top marks in my school, then classes etc, I find that people are more defensive about intelligence than anything else. The idea that their own intelligence might be limited by natural ability is something they'll furiously deny. I mean, it's hard not to call yourself intelligent without sounding like an a***hole, but it's just something I've noticed. And regarding Kimye - I don't follow them, but am generally aware. Being an atheist, I can't see why anyone would have a problem with them. They don't hurt me one bit with their existence. So what if they're materialistic and commercial? So what if people enjoy that? Purposefully with-holding sympathy from them on those grounds just makes you look a) like you're way too invested in their lives for someone who pretends to not care about them and b) a bit of a tool, tbh. |

And to say that Kimye don't hurt you 'one bit by their existence' is incredibly blinkered. they affect the society around us by glamourising shallow materialism, it's beyond doubt that the world would be a better place if they never existed. |

No one said that though. Someone doubted that every celeb claming MH was genuine.
So in conclusion, that is exactly what they are saying. |

Which begs the question, why would you not believe they were mentally ill? They are as likely as anyone else to become mentally ill, maybe more so, but for some reason people doubt them because they aren't 'normal' people.
So in conclusion, that is exactly what they are saying. Celebs excuses come in trends, MH is just a popular one at the moment. Exhaustion used to be the most common. |
