1) I don't like to be an armchair psychologist, but it does look like Kanye has mental health issues. I hope he manages to get them under control, as these things suck majorly whoever you are.
2) If Piers Morgan thought nobody wanted to hear about them then he wouldn't talk about them. Verbal clickbait from a former newspaper editor who must know that what he's saying is rubbish. 3) Children of lawyers are more likely to become lawyers because of their contacts. The more desirable trainee positions are generally going to go to relatives/family friends of partners or clients. That said, though children of intelligent parents are more likely to be intelligent, whether those intelligent parents were lawyers or blue collar workers. And, I do think that Kim must be intelligent to have made her success run as long and as well as it has. |

Well I'm more intelligent than my younger brother, we both have the same genes and the same environment, what happened?
And to say that Kimye don't hurt you 'one bit by their existence' is incredibly blinkered. they affect the society around us by glamourising shallow materialism, it's beyond doubt that the world would be a better place if they never existed. 1) You don't share exactly the same genes as your siblings. Except for identical twins, no one does - or at least the chances are in the billions. 2) You didn't have the same environment, did you? He had an older brother, so divided parental attention could be a factor, or his relationship with you might have affected his development - positively or negatively. Your parents could have been subtly richer or poorer, he might have had different teachers in school - all sorts of things, which are even true with twins. And 3) - that's your opinion, but knowing nothing of my life, you can't really say to what extent I'm affected by materialism. I can personally state that other people being materialistic has not affected my life - I don't read about things I'm not interested in, spend money I don't want, or feel the lack of things I do want. Without understanding the entire counterfactual circumstances of Kimye not existing, I wouldn't be so confident as to make such a pronouncement that 'it's beyond doubt that the world would be a better place if they never existed', but even so, I suspect you're neglecting both the genuine good deeds by them - charitable donations (here's a start for you http://www.popsugar.com/celebrity/Ki...photo-41280096). I suspect the people benefiting from her charity don't care if she gets her arse out to earn it. This is what I mean about this family - people go out of their way to denigrate them to the point of stating the world would be better without them existing. Completely overblown. Just life your own lives. |

I just saw this; a speculative piece basically insinuating that this is slightly convenient for the '$53m in debt' Kanye... I would guess that this sort of manipulation does go on when such huge sums are involved, but who knows if that's the case here.

My younger brother also had the support of an academic sibling, still didn't make him 'smarter'. He's not 'thick' but he has no qualifications beyond Standard Grade. He is taller and more physically developed than me though so his genetics have given him other advantages. There are a multitude of influences on intelligence but I'd say genetics are a very small part of it, to test this you'd really need to take a highly intelligent persons child away from them and their privileged upbringing but that's never going to happen is it? 3. There is no doubt in my mind that the world would be a better place without Kanye Wests music and Kim's naked selfies, they are role models for crass materialistic greed and excess. |

I think possibly he might have . Or they both did but he let it go a bit further than she expected and she's genuinely shocked at how far he can go .
My view is that the wife fed his already dodgy psyche by playing all her media games . He has always seemed a bit loopy but she is just machiavellian . Maybe he tried to out do her publicity machinations by planning the Paris thing . On the other hand maybe she set it up and it's all tipped him over the edge . Lots of rumours that they are skint, or at least living beyond their means . Who knows . |

Is there actual real proof to just conclude, that the Paris robbery was staged? I see posts stating it as a fact.
IMO it's naive to say, that Kim and the Kardashians are 'bad' for the society when they're basically an answer to a public demand. The carcrash reality tv is really popular, all the 'stars' have tons of fans. Of course business savvy people are going to cash onto that. |

Why?
Celebrities are just as likely to become mentally ill as the average Joe. Quote:
I find it worrying that people still seem to think you can't become mentally ill if you are rich and famous.

Exactly, I'm not saying none of them have mental health problems but I think a lot of them just use it as an excuse and it makes a mockery of people who do really suffer

I think it is the case that sometimes people in the public eye conveniently use mental illness as an excuse for behaviour which would otherwise attract negative criticism.
It's not universal of course, but for those who have little going for them career-wise apart from the odd bit of attention from the trashy tabloids, any excuse for a bit of media attention is likely to be welcomed. ![]() Mental illness is certainly nothing to be ashamed of... but nor should it be cynically misused as an opportunity for self-promotion as this is more likely to generate negative or unsympathetic attitudes to the condition itself. It's also the case that being constantly under public scrutiny is probably not the best way of managing underlying mental illness or coping with acute episodes. However, there are some well-known people who would rather retain their share of the spotlight instead of getting the appropriate treatment/management for their mental health issues. |

Well i never actually said that did i ? I never said celebs couldn't have mental illnesses. I just said i find it hard to believe that so many of them have them. You can't seem to go more than a few days without celebs trying to get us to feel sorry for them.
I agree. That's exactly what you said. You are claiming you don't believe that so many celebs get mentally ill. What is it that you don't believe? Do you believe people in 'real life' that are mentally ill are making it up? |

From CDAN (relevant?):
Apparently there have been recent attempts at suicide by this former A+ list rapper. He has fresh knife marks on different parts of his body. |

Gone are the days when Britney fakes a broken leg to get a boob job. I personally think the 1 in 4 stat is way under, as many of us have mh issues to a certain degree in our life. |

That article says the gentleman that made the emergency call gave Kanye a pseudonym of Jim Jones. That's a pretty nasty name to use for someone having a psychotic breakdown.
as there is a rapper of the same name ? ? Rather than the mass murderer. |

That's not what they said at all. People fake illness all the time regardless of how much money they have. Mental illness and bad backs are very difficult to prove so they are popular with people that need an excuse.

So, on the one hand you're saying that a lot of people fake mental illness, then in the next breath, you announce that the 1 in 4 stat is way under. Complete contradiction. |

I don't think ordinary people fake psychosis and stays on psychiatric wards - it's not exactly something future employees want to see on a medical record. There's a massive stigma attached to it still.

Despite him being an idiot sometimes I like Kanye so I hope he is okay. Mental health is an issue people don't take seriously enough.

I suppose there's only so long you can keep churning out exactly the same tune replete with filthy language before the stultifying repetition starts to get to you.

I think this guy has been extremely ill for a long, long time but being famous he was presented to the public as a very creative individual and his life was interesting!!!. The fashion show he gave was ridiculous yet we were told people were paying $$$$ for his creations!! He talks absolute rubbish most of the time and seems very disturbed. Not exactly surprised he is now in hospital. Amazing how the public can be fooled.

Well it would seem that all is well and the reported 'psychosis' has retreated far enough that Kanye can now go home and resume normal life.

The psychosis that requires a person to be sectioned might well only need them to be in hospital for a couple of days. Especially if they can be released into the care of a private doctor.
I know someone who has been sectioned a few times for their own safety, and they have been in hospital for less than a week before. And usually they are only in there for the last few days because they have to wait for the right senior professional to sign them off as OK to leave. Basically, when my friend loses grip on reality and starts acting as if the things they believe in their imagination are true, then they get hospitalised. Once they are rational again, they get discharged, even if they are still massively struggling with their mental health and have a boat load of medication that they have to take. |

Surely the ghastly Kadashians can bail him out!! Personally I have no idea why this awful family are so popular. But they seem to be able to make huge amounts of money, doing nothing but making reality TV and issuing nude pictures on their webpage!!
