No it wouldn't. In the very first series Christoper Parker made the final and came 2nd, and he was one of the worst ever. He was so bad, and basically unteachable, that when it came to the Paso his teacher - the brilliant wonderful Hanna Kartunnen - just gave him a cape and told him to run around and do whatever he wanted, which he did. It was completely ludicrous, but it didn't do the Strictly 'brand' any harm.

Yes, it's an entertainment show based around dance BUT in nearly all past years the public have generally removed the worst dancers by the final stages leaving the strongest field possible for the final.

If that was to be broken this year and Ed went on to win I think it would ultimately prove very, very damaging. It would basically trash the Strictly brand, similar to what's happened to X-Factor in the past few years.

Hopefully you are right and he'll be out by the public vote shortly. But if not and it looks like he might actually win he needs to do the decent thing - As a politician I'm sure he'll know this.”

I actually think an Ed win would enhance the Strictly brand rather than damage it, by showing that anyone can win if they put in the hard work and entertain the audience, rather than having to concede to the elite few experienced (and younger) dancers.

They are often trying to put across the message that "anybody can dance", so why not "anyone can dance- and win".

Sadly I'm sure the judges will manipulate the scores this week or next, to ensure no ties on the leaderboard, thus lengthening the odds of Ed making it through.
