I am surprised region 36 is still Granada HD and not Border HD.

It appears that Region 36 does not currently have an ITV HD on the EPG at all. It DID have Granada until the services all launched at 1130 but it appears there is no 178 currently in Region 36 at time of writing.

Always good to see channels upscale to HD. Great addition to the sports offering.

Well pretty much all sports feeds are HD now days, so one would hope they made a bad choice of words when they used the word upscale but who knows, depends on the play-out facility I guess.

I suppose upscale is the next best thing to full HD. But maybe they phrased it wrong.

Someone posted that the UHD test channel had been replaced by a FTA channel called Insight.

Been told that this is a standalone pay channel on the Sky EPG (£5 a month)

Is this a (probably temporary) freebie that's available?

Why is 103 on Sky still SD?

I've got ITV Granada in HD on 178 and ITV Granada SD on 103. This has been the case for years. When are they going to switch?

I have no idea and no-one else does either - however I would guess it will be once all the sub-regions are HD as well and not before becuase they all have to match up.

However, I do agree - it should be - but remember that on DTT there are fewer HD regions - the most recent 6 to come on are missing on DTT

I think it's a FTA HD channel which carries no advertising. Haven't watched at all.

Insight HD is FTV on Sky channel 564. It was FTA originally.

The UHD test isn't on the EPG.

That hasn't stopped STV doing a HD swap in the Glasgow/West sub-region, i'm sure ITV could do it if they wanted to.

The UHD promo channel is carrying extended promos of several different UHD services - including Insight UHD.

Yes, I believed that the UHD test off the EPG had been replaced by Insight UHD.

I wonder why they went FTV, they must have the correct rights clearance for them to be previously broadcasting FTA?? FTV costs in encryption and they won't be getting any cut from the Sky Sub Club.

Maybe Sky have cut a deal with them to keep them off Freesat??

Still FTA - as I type the promo is for Fashion 4K.

The is one programme keeps appearing but that seems to be a 4k feature too from SES.

BTW: This UHD transmission is on channel 998 of the Freesat EPG on 4K receivers.
