What part of the show makes you think they are pretending it is live? Referring to the earlier live show as "yesterday" or "Saturday" instead of "a few hours ago", well in the chronology of the broadcast that is perfectly logical. Same as when on pointless they refer to "yesterday you got to round two now you're in the final" guess what, it was probably less than an hour ago and not yesterday. This "pretence" is as old as recorded TV, indeed our old mate Brucie used to mock it relentlessly with his "you're so much better than last week" jape to the play your cards right audience (and before that even).
So if you are unable to cope with watching a pre recorded television program, that is your issue to cope with and not theirs.
And yes, some parts of the Saturday show are also recorded (the pro dance at the start and all the training video interludes etc.)”
When it changed in series five, it was a case of "last night" etc., until the press got hold of it. Then the BBC, "the little loves," bleated that they never actually said it was live.
But they've carried on as if it were ever since, but are careful not to say "last night" any more.
I don't think it's a problem, just amusing that they like to keep on with the charade.
A change of outfit for Tess and Claudia, just emphasises the pretence.
I did ask the question earlier, whether they move the audience around like they do when they record three episodes of "A Question of Sport" in one session with the same people watching. I guess it's too much of a bother.
