Lovely news and I think he'll do well. He has a gorgeous personality and this will show him to best advantage. I wish him all the very best.

Well, he's an experienced TV presenter so deserves it as much as anybody I suppose.

Good for him, it will improve This morning, 200%.

Cynics would say it's a suspiciously well-timed piece of news, but the guy has to do something to raise his profile and get viewers behind him. The current bookies' odds on him winning are so long it's almost insulting, bearing in mind the large number of '9's and '10's he's racked up so far...

I say Go Ore!! (just don't desert the Beeb)

Don't see why he shouldn't accept an invitation to do some presenting (i.e. his day job!) if he's asked to.

I think Ore has a lovely manner on screen, not surprised he's been talent spotted by This Morning!

Although most of the BBC Breakfast staff are technically freelance and self employed, it's rather unusual for them to moonlight on t'other channel

Suppose the BBC will not mind as there will be plenty of strictly talk and This Morning has had quite a few of the Strictly celebs on this year

That was what I was wondering as well.

Has he stopped working as a sports reporter for BBC breakfast now? He hasn't been on since strictly started, unlike Naga who was working even when she was still in the contest.

I know it's not the same show, but Anita has done This Morning, who is usually Countryfile. Perhaps whoever decides these things thinks it's good publicity for Strictly.

I haven't watched it for a long time, but I'm sure Ore will be very good on it. It shows what a career boost Strictly gives people (which is great). I think presenters in particularly do well if they come across well on the show, regardless of whether they win or not.

Deserve?

His inclusion in Strictly, is all part of the BBC "grooming" for him for more presenting jobs.

"First, get yourself noticed."

Most people wouldn't have even heard of him before.

He has done presenting with the BBC since 2008 mainly with CBBC and latterly for sport on BBC (he has a degree in sports science) so well qualified to present, on This Morning the other week he came over very well in his interview with Phil and Holly and ITV must have thought so too

Sooty would put Schofield to shame if he presented the programme.
