I don’t know if this has been mentioned (search not working) but I just had an update on my Moto G 4G Gen 1 for WhatsApp video calling and its is now live.

I've tried it a good few times, it seems pretty good, audio can be a little hit and miss though. Still find Skype beats everything else.

How do you get the video calling enabled?

EDIT: Found out how to. *sorry*

I was a bit puzzled myself to where the setting were to make a video call then realised it only shows up when you make a call and then you get the option of voice only or video.

The only other problem I had was with my Android 6 phone where you can deny permissions to individual processes and I denied WhatsApp permission to use the camera but I did have a warning on screen as to why it was not working in that instant and was soon fixed.

my WhatsApp voice calls always cut out and take 20 secs to reconnect, so might stick with Skype for video calls. Wish the calls were more reliable.
My connection is strong and fast and so are the friends' connections where they live so it's annoying.

Always found WhatsApp connects instantly and better quality than Skype. I use both a lot.

The problem I have with Skype is that since Microsoft got their hands on it everybody, or nearly everybody I know stopped using it.
