Hello, please can anyone help me with the following ? I have searched through postings within the forum about this error but they seem a little out of date, just wondered if there is a cure for this.
I have the Panasonic DMR-EX773EB DVD recorder and I've had no problem with it until today. Basically I am trying to copy recordings from the hard drive to DVD-R discs but after a few seconds a message appears saying there may be a problem with the disc and the unit turns to standby, restarts with another message saying the operation was stopped due to a scratched disc, dirt or quality. This cannot be the case, they are brand new, some of the packet have worked ok on another recorder I have in the house. The error code U88 appears in the LED display.
I have seen in an earlier posting that resetting the unit to its factory settings may help, the hard drive is full of recorded material and I am concerned I will lose it all should I reset it. Many thanks for your time, any advice would be greatly appreciated
