I do love Brendan, he makes some very interesting observations about all of the contestants - all very fair and very constructive, but his comments about Ed and Katya show how much the onlooking Strictly crowd (ie pros and celebs) are loving their performances too!!

He's probably "angling" for Len's seat next year...

Interesting he's come out and said what most of us were thinking on Claudia's Jive.

As for his comments on Ed I completely agree they hardly ever talk about his technique and only Bruno mentioned that it actually looked like a Jive he and Katya deserve more credit.

Very measured, fair and constructive without criticising anyone. Enjoyable read that.

Now I know why I adore Brendan so much. He is not just a wonderful guy, a fabulous dancer and a creative choreographer, he also tells it like it is. If only they would make him Head Judge.

Excellent review by Brendan

Very honest and I agree with a lot of what he says. I've never been a Brendan fan, but I'm impressed by this revie at least... Future judge? I don't think I'd mind.

I missed that, thanks for digging it out - really enjoyed reading it and agreed with most of it.

Thanks for the link, a really good read - lots of common sense and good insights.

Would love to have been a fly on the wall, or in the car, with Anton and Brendan.

Thank you - what a great read! I didn't know he was doing this for DS and I will watch for his thoughts every week now.

Being a fly in the car would definitely have been interesting!

I seem to be in the minority then as I think Brendan is a bit overly critical of some people in his weekly piece... I find it a bit awkward when he's still on the show. He's been quite harsh on Claudia the last two weeks and seems to be saying she should be out now. I wouldn't be too happy with that if I was the person being criticised seeing as he is part of the show.

Louise smiled the whole way through her Paso and Brendan says it was comparable to Danny and Oti's dance.

Ummm...well... okay then.

Great review - perhaps a little harsh on Claudia, but I totally agree with him on Ore and Judge Rinder. I wouldn't mind him being a judge in the future.

That's a very good article, and I'm pleased to see someone giving Ed and Katya more credit.

I also pretty much agree with him about all the other couples too, though I don't think I would put Louise's Paso on the same level as Danny's Charleston. She didn't seem to have a sufficiently passionate character for me in that dance.

Be interesting to see Brendan doing some Strictly judging.

There were a few seconds where she didn't Nevertheless I really enjoyed their dance.

Goes to show that professionals, judges etc. while having great knowledge still look at each dance fairly subjectively unless it's a howler.

If he is then good luck to him. I think he'd be a great judge.

He has been a judge on the NZ or Aus Strictly.

I don't think that the pro dancers who are currently working on the show should critique their colleagues or the celebs - I am really quite amazed that they are allowed to do so.

I like Brendan, I have found his blog interesting .. but should he really be saying 'I don't know what her dance is next week, but I don't think Claudia is the strongest dancer there and I don't think they're doing particularly special stuff to make them stay'. Claudia is still in the competition and AJ is a colleague of Brendan's.

Just read the commentary and I think Brendan is spot on - which is hardly surprising, given his dance background ! Just saying ! Maybe his words of wisdom will get smothered by all the armchair critics, though.

Come off your high horse!! We've had the celeb dancers blogging about the show several times before, and surely that would have given them an unfair voting advantage? And we've had series where the celeb dancers were pretty indiscreet on Twitter. At least Brendan's remarks (and he's had his column for ages) are measured and neutral and not at all personal.

Brendan is 'judging' his work colleagues and the celebrities. Its different. And his critique is very detailed - not just the odd tweet. Totally happy for him to write in that way when he has left the show or changed role. I liked Brendan but when he dissed Gorka in the blog about the Quickstep.. which he did.. I was amazed and unimpressed.

So Brendan 'neutral'

What did he say about Gorka. On the dance floor I have been quite impressed by him be honest.
