Yes, agreed, it's great at the moment. Some good storylines. Kate Oates is making her mark on it now.

I think she is. Although Corrie still has far too many nutjob/comedy characters.

The SLs are far more interwoven and not so simple and linear. There have still been some horrendous, stupid SORs in the Maria/Caz and the Phelan/Vinnie SLs but they've still been somewhat enjoyable.

"Corrie is improving significantly."

True. And I suspect it's all down to this.

I think it has got a little better but be honest could it have gotten any worse.

Continuity is shocking. With regards to working, does anyone in Corrie actually do a full days work.
Sean seems to in Rovers working at all times of day when he should be in factory.Same with Eva who never seems to sew anything

Jenny on another day off

David not at work, same with Auds, and Maria in jail

Gemma and Ches last night in pub who was in kebab shop

Dont get me started on the disappearing kids

I think I am the only one who does not like the focus on Barlows

Ken, shockingly bad actor, how he has been there so long
Tracey, one dimesional, given constant poor stories
Peter, OK but I am at a loss as to what they can do with his character
Adam looks like he could also turn out to be a bit 1 dimensional, pretty boy
Daniel may turn out to be interesting

If you think Corrie is great, nip along to the Corrie SOR thread, its brilliant and very inciteful

Not sure about the Maria/Caz story. It's like she's been arrested for murder but no-one has bothered to look for the victim!”

It's ridiculous. Sure people have been convicted of murder without a body, but there is no sense of the police trying to find a body or any evidence other than a scissors. This storyline just doesn't work.

SOR thread is ok, but it's turned very rambling and repetitive and goes off on tangents way too often. And if you read it too much, it turns you off enjoying the programme.

I mean really, wondering about who is babysitting the kids? I think when you are more interested in the SORs than the show itself, it might be best finding something you do enjoy watching.

Yeh, Maria has been charged with the murder of Caz who has of course not been found dead, while neither Phelan nor anyone else has been arrested for the murder of Michael who has been found dead.

I dont watch it as much as I used to due to work or other things, but when I do it looks like its improved massively lately, much better than tge drivel we've been used to past few months

But Michael wasn't murdered. He had a heart condition and a postmortem will show he died of natural causes.

So wrong. People are being paid good money to produce and script write the show. The least they can be expected to do is get the basics right. If I was so lazy and got so many things wrong in my job I wouldn't be able to complain when I got sacked.

It has not improved massively, although it does seem a bit better than it was, but it was so bad it was difficult to sink any lower. Still some massive basic mistakes, like one minute Eileen is saying Todd told her he found Michael dead this morning, the next it's this afternoon.

I'm not saying that there are no SORs in Corrie - just that the thread has changed from what used to be an entertaining read to a nit-picky long winded repetitive thread, where many of the so-called SORs turn out to have plausible, or even totally missed explanations.

When you start to watch with SORs in mind - which I have in the past - it spoils your enjoyment somewhat. Of course you have to suspend reality when watching any drama on the telly. And I do see how the SORs themselves can spoil the enjoyment of a SL if there are too many glaring ones. But when SOR spotting becomes your main reason for watching and overtakes so that you don't notice when/if the show itself is improving, well that seems like a pretty futile reason to continue watching.

Agree with you Menk & I seldom visit the SOR thread for that very reason!!
There are enough obvious SORs without purposely looking for picky little details to pull to pieces!!

I really enjoyed the pacing of last night's episode. It didn't feel like a chore watching Corrie, and yes there are some SORs, but when they get the character interactions right, it works.

Daniel and David, Sally and Leanne; Anna, Gail and Eileen, Phelan and Todd, heck even Luke telling Tyrone that he was using moisturiser had me chuckle.
