I am loving his character!

There is something quite charming about him too

I wonder what secret he is hiding?

What are everyone's thoughts on his return?

He is a bit of a weirdo

Definitely a weirdo but so refreshing to see a young male character that isn't a 'bad boy with an eye for the ladies'.

Personally I think they've pushed the bookish nature and drab clothes to the point of it being a bit cliche but it's still refreshing all the same.

I think he's quite fabulous.
He's the spit of his dad and a chip off the old block.

Really good casting.
I prefer him to Adam.

Yep, it's nice to have a young male character that isn't a wannabe Jack the Lad and/or a complete moron. They are a rare commodity in soaps. I certainly prefer him so far to Adam, who is far too in love with himself for my tastes.

Rob Mallard is obviously a very good actor. He seems totally different to Connor the rent boy from ED a few months ago.

Absolutely agree Lou!!

So refreshing to have a different sort of young male character on the Street & he is Ken mk2!!

Loving him!! Far better than cliched Adam imo, though he may be ok if he gets a few edges knocked off him!!
Loving new, 'responsible' Peter as well, cos you just know that, despite his seeming character change, trouble won't be far behind!!

Bet he's bisexual!

"Do you like fellas?"
- "I'm not gay."

Classic.

It's summat to do with his Mum, I'm guessing ?

I really hope they don't go down the gay/bisexual route with him, too much of a soap cliche, a male character isn't all butch, macho & confident with the ladies so he must be gay!!
An insult to both homosexual and heterosexual men imo!!

There are heterosexual guys with other interests apart from getting their latest conquest between the sheets & having testosterone fuelled feuds with other similarly cliched characters & I'm hoping Corrie have found one in Daniel!!

How is he a weirdo?

I just don't get it, he's just a quiet lad who likes to read. To me, that makes him a normal introvert.

Well Tracy did suspect him of being a cult leader.

I really like his character, brings a new dynamic to the family.

Found Adam more bearable tonight as well.

I agree. Great casting, he reminds me of the actor that played the creator of CS in the drama road to coronation street.

Spoiler
I read somewhere that his mother actually left with a new boyfriend when Daniel was only 15 and he's been living alone ever since

Give it a few weeks, he'll seek solace with mild-mannered Billy. Or adventurous Todd will eat him for breakfast.

That would explain his lack of communication & his obvious family trust issues!!

How so? Because he's not a 'lad' or a 'player'?

I really like Daniel, he's so much like Ken and I can imagine them getting along really well once Ken is better. A fantastic casting also, and he brings a great dynamic to the Barlow family since her differs so much from Peter, Adam and even Simon.

He's brilliant so far - I'm very intrigued.

I love how there is so much life in the Barlow household again!

Agreed. I love the contrast between Daniel and Adam, and also the way that Tracey's taken on a bit of a mother hen type of role within a household of men.
