I agree that they were listening to her, as they would when they have a dead body on their hands. Even if first signs suggest natural causes there is always an investigation and they would take anybody that came forward with information seriously - especially when they are possibly the last person to see the deceased alive.
But just because they didn't immediately say they'd issue a warrant for his arrest or whatever she wanted, she went into one and made herself appear completely unhinged.
We understand why as we know the full history but to them.....
The trouble is that for all her problems and the fact that I know I should feel sorry for her, there is something fundamentally unlikeable about her.
And I don't think it is deliberate. I don't think Rush plays as unlikeable on purpose, I think we are meant to see her as a downtrodden woman who fights her corner and is to be admired and liked.
