Most families on EE have lost a close one. It's not realistic and I don't want any more deaths

It is realistic because everybody dies.

I don't know any family that hasn't lost somebody, not even when I was a child. As Scrabbler says, everybody dies in time.

Do you perhaps mean that every family has experienced a premature or violent death which I agree is less common tham natural causes in old age? Though I'd argue it us still quite common. By the time I'd left primary school I knew about a dozen people, either at school or neighbours who had lost a family member due to a road accident or illness when young (Cystic Fibrosis, Cancer) and one murder.

Not as bad as Hollyoaks which treats death in a ludacrus manner.
EastEnders just constantly kills off the wrong characters, and usually completely unnecessarily

And also before their time. The mortality rate for under 40s must be higher than in war torn Africa.

Some weeks ago there was an article in Elstree & Borehamwood Times about the worst (crime) areas in Borehamwood. I wrote in comments that they'd left out the worst one: Albert Sq. For those of you who've been, the worst one was that passage leading from the Shopping Park to Henley Road - so not far from the studios/Albert Sq - and if you like me come from the station, you pass it on the way to Clarendon Rd - may even use it as short cut - through the shopping park and out the other side to Clarendon Rd

Could Lee, rather than commit suicide, do e.g. a bank robbery, get caught, but due to his mental health, end up in some institution - i.e. leave the square for good

He appears to be leaving around Xmas. Which is around the time the mitchell sisters are killed off. I can't imagine 3 deaths in a short period of time so I'm guessing he doesn't top himself

same here - can't see three deaths within the space of a week or so - two of them leading to motherless children - and who knows, Whitney could be pregnant again

When they first announced that Lee was leaving, didn't it say the door was being left open for him? With at least 1, if not 2 deaths happening at New Year, I think it very unlikely Lee will be killed off.

I did find it a bit much that Carol, Max and Jack had all lost a son.

Also situations like the Platts in Corrie losing Michael and Kylie and Emmerdale's Bartons losing James and Holly within a few months of each other do feel a bit much.

I'm 40 and I've lost a grandmother, that's all. People on EE lose people too early in unnatural deaths

I have lost people every decade of my life, starting with my Grandparents when I was under 5, in latter years I lost adult friends to cancer & other family members died off as I aged. Also suicides of adult friends. Maybe if one has a small family & a small social group, they won't know so many, but people die every day, so it is realistic.

Other tragic deaths from my childhood, include a neighbor ( a mother with young children, ) who choke on her own vomit she was an alcoholic & my best friend in school lost her younger sister to childhood leukemia. If you have only one death by the age of 40, that is exceptional (imo)
Q:I'm 40 and I've lost a grandmother, that's all. People on EE lose people too early in unnatural deaths" from majik 1

eta I also lost 2 young cousins to car accidents one was a teen, & one was 3 years old (separate accidents) So lots of deaths is fairly normal.

Yes it did because it explicitly stated he could return but they could have changed their minds.

I don't think he will die but if he does at least I will get a storyline suprise

Same here, two grandparents before I was a teen, when I was about 14 one of my closest friends mum died of cancer a few days before Xmas. I have lost track of the number of school friends that have sadly died one way or another, neighbours, family friends, friends children/babies on too many occasions . This year alone I have attended 2 funerals, will be going to another in the next few weeks and my best friends step dad is now fighting cancer. Oh and a colleague from another office who I have known around 8yrs professionally suddenly died that was a real shock!

Does anyone else think that Lee's exit may be directly related to that **** Osman at work? He's making Lee's life hell. What if Lee snaps and accidentally kills Osman in a fit of rage? If it's not premeditated could leave the door open for a return after a prison sentence. Don't think Lee would go on the run, after Ryan (Whitney's brother) did for several years.

At 42 I have lost all my grandparents - both grandads within a fortnight of each other when I was 12, my nan's both lived to their 80s/90s. Also my aunt, who died in cancer in her 60s. The only truly shock death of somebody I knew well personally was a friend who passed away unexpectedly of an undetected heart defect at the age of 40. Certainly nothing like the mortality rate in younger people in EastEnders, or any of the other soaps come to that. No wonder Billy Mitchell finally has a steady income.

I have also had the good fortune to never - to my knowledge - live in the same street as a serial killer, never mind several of them during different eras.

This might be a good theory, Lee is still got muscles from his army stint, so I can a see him knocking the odious oz into next week, & maybe going away for a short time because of it, which would be great, as then we can have him back.
