She could have worn the basque and corset in front of him for a start instead of leaving them in her bag for Johnny to quizzically ogle at.

Actually yes that would have made more sense if she was all basqued up when Lee got home. Shona has a cracking body so I'm sure she wouldn't have objected.

If I started going through by sister-in-law's undies, I'd get a slap. Just saying.

Are you a straight bloke, though? I think that's the difference. Whitney probably sees Johnny as her cute little gay brother. It's a bit stereotypical but not wholly unrealistic. I wouldn't think twice about my gay BFF commenting on some sexy underwear I'd bought, but if one of my straight male friends did it I might find it a bit awkward.

I don't understand the post miscarriage trauma when Whitney wanted to move away and clearly found Linda rather oppressive to have around to her fitting in with the family and getting on well with everyone. What changed? Was it that she was keen on trying for another baby and wanted to have a good family atmosphere?

What's been skipped over amidst Lee's depression has been her personal trauma and again, her in laws' obliviousness to what she has gone through. As usual, Mick is a dimwit who tries to get by with cheeky Cockney cliches like "give yer 'ead a wobble" and "put that on yer swede." Cheesy and lazy acting at best.

I'm a married straight bloke, so actually, I wouldn't get *a* slap - I'd get two

People are still uncomfortable when it comes to mental illness. It's still a joke or "made up" to some people. I've been told to "cheer up," "calm down" and get over myself. Sad but true. (Have bipolar)

Same here. My dads current girlfiend told me to change and be hppy at the click of a fingers when I have depression. Can't stand her after that and basically saying she is my mum when she only just met me. It makes me sick.

OP Imagine if you can that you are in a hole hundreds of feet below ground. It's black & you can see nothing. There are no ways to escape this hole, no ladders, no pathways. I'll add to this that you are alone & terrified. How do you spice that up?

Depression is a nasty evil condition that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

I refuses to see her now. My dad at the tine stood up for me but now she is piling the pressure on him to get me to talk to her when she still fails to see what she did according to my dad. My birthday next week is going to be awkward when I see my dads family as I predict she will decide to turn up when I see my dads family and not take bonfor an answer.

Is there any likelihood that Whit would seek solace from other source? She's a good looking girl with a lovely personality and a sensitive side. I feel sorry for Lee with his depression but she's showed a patience with him and has had to go through her entire family moving to MK, losing her baby, getting married into a family with a thick father in law suffocating mother in law and husband who going to go bankrupt and any given moment and can't be honest with her.

Both your experiences of reactions to depression are sadly the norm

He should ask his work buddy to show him how it's done. He's a wiz at everything.
