The final 3 and 4 is to be fought by Claudia, Ed, Ore and Robert based upon public vs judge voting thus far.”

It's a SHOO-IN !!!!

When your favorite is one of the contenders and comes in at 1 or 2 then you can afford to gift Ed a few votes. Because then they are unlikely to be in the dance off and more likely to beat anyone who goes up against them because the judges like their dance. There has never been a dance off between (1) and (2) as far as I can recall and I don't think it's possible. But clearly anyone in either position probably out-dance any of of the others.

My theory is that if Danny tops the leader board and Claudia is second then Ed is most likely to survive as I think those are the two with the largest support and their supporters can feel fairly relaxed that they are safe and so can go for the more entertaining dancer.”

Never assume the people you want will be safe, you have to vote for them. People didn't bother voting in the referendum or voted one way thinking that the vote wouldn't matter. likewise the election in the US - look what happened. My advice, vote for who you want to keep - BTW - the fact that we can vote multiple times is a nonsense and leads to racking up huge phone bills, for what? A dance show. Come on folks, get a sense of perspective

No, I don't want another Chris Hollinsclough either.

Who's Chris Hollinsclough?

And thus disenfranchising all of the people who vote/support Ed Balls. You have no right to dictate what we should all be watching. The title of the show (as it is not a programme) is Strictly Come Dancing, which is about as accurate as the Sun or Mail calling describing themselves as a newspaper.

The next step is to suggest that the final should only include Danny and Louise (or dancers of their ilk and that would also preclude Ore).

As has been said to death, and no doubt it will have to be repeated a zillion times, this is not a dance show (check out the original idea for the show). Should all of the slebs have to audition to demonstrate their prowess at dancing?

Personally, I think the Beeb should only play classical music, ballet, plays by Ibsen, comedy by Shakespeare and documentaries subjected to peer review by academics.

What we know about the votes of the remaining against one another :

Claudia : beat Ore in Week 7, lost to Ed, Louise, Ore and Rinder in Week 9
Danny : beat Ore in Wk 7,
Ed : beat Ore in Week 7, beat Claudia in Week 9
Louise : beat Claudia in Week 9
Ore : lost to Claudia, Danny, Ed, and Rinder in Week 7, beat Claudia in Week 9
Rinder : beat Ore in Week 7, beat Claudia in Week 9

Ed can dance, he's performing dance steps. Yes, he's not as gifted as the remaining contestants but it's doing him a disservice to say (generic not you in particular) that he cannot dance.

This is the beauty of dance as a medium for expression and enjoyment, you don't have to be good at it to love it

Fairly sure the poster is allowed an opinion on who they'd like to leave next to be honest.

True - just getting a bit ragged by the wars that seem to be starting. Time for me to retreat I think. Thank you for the reprimand - sincerely

At that point Ofcom stepped in and said only programmes which were actual fund raising telethones like Children in Need, Text Santa etc, could use phone votes as a method of raising money. Hence the CiN fund raising stopped on Strictly and the cost of the call dropped.

(sorry if it sounds like I'm banging on about it but as a journalist at the time, I wrote an awful lot of stories about the funding rows )”

No apology needed - you have said in a much more coherent fashion what I was trying to say. I'd forgotten the "cat naming" debacle, but I'm sure there were worse on other channels?

yeah ED WILL BE BOTTOM WHATEVER...but surely he will still only be a point below the next one up...ie. danny 6, louise 5...down to ed 1??
THEY have to make the public vote worthwhile!! remember tom chambers!!

I would love it! Somehow I think he'll scrape by though... even with the Cha Cha-athon

I predict on the Cha Cha's thus far the points will be:

AJ & Claudia : 6
Louise & Kev : 5
Judge & Oks : 4
Danny & Oti : 3
Ore & Joe : 2
Kaya & Ed : 1

Danny was too "showy" in his Cha Cha and that'll knock points off from the judges!

Ed has some plausible tango music and could quite easily sail through this week. Ore, Claudia and Rindy could all be in trouble, however. Not great music for any of them and dances which may not suit at least two.

I think we have a "shock" this week and then (hopefully) Ed goes next week.

Based on the way this year has gone, I'm not holding out hope for it. In fact, I'm pretty much going to just assume he's going to win the whole show from now on and not bother being frustrated by it anymore.

Ed is undoubtedly popular. Who's to say he won't escape elimination this week.

I think he will. He is much better in the Ballroom and besides Danny he has the best song this week. I honestly think that he can escape the bottom 2 this week. IMO the bottom 2 this weekend is between Ore, Claudia and the judge .

as for being out this weekend - dont hold your breath! Im not sure Ed is going anywhere tbh

exactly what Polly T has said

the judges need to be very, very careful otherwise there will be another "Tom Chambers" situation on their hands”

I concur.
