Just pray for no ties on the leader board then Ed will even be gone this week rather than next.

No ties on the leader board? This year? Keep dreaming.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. He is my 2nd favorite after Danny but I am sure that you are not the only one with this line of thinking. I bet quite a few people who vote for him nowadays do it just for that reason.

Yes, that'll make for an entertaining show. Spite voting.

Even if he tops the public vote, he will still be bottom 2 overall.

This is a clever way for the judges to remove whoever they want to at this point in the competition...”

If that's the case then what's the point in the public vote as there is no way they can save him. The scoring can't be like you say, if it is the BBC will realise this and it will be altered before the show so he has a chance to be saved.

It isn't. It will be done on place on the final leaderboard just as it is every week. The second dance will simply be an opportunity to improve position. If he gets bottom judges and top vote then he'll stand a good chance of avoiding the bottom two particularly if there's a tie somewhere in the judges scores.

Rinder has the Rumba this week so my bet to go - which is a shame.
Mind you maybe if he kills the Cha-Cha like he did in week one he might be OK

Not so. They've changed the scoring system to ensure that ties do not disadvantage the lowest scorers (and may occasionally be to their advantage). If, this week, for example, Ed comes last in the scores but first in the vote while everybody else remains in the same order underneath him he would be 3rd overall (the vote being the overall tie breaker) irrespective of whether there is a tie on the leaderboard or not. If the same conditions applied in the final 5 he would actually be lifted to 2nd overall in the event of a tie in the scoring.

This thread title is wrong, just wrong.

Do you refer to all the contestants by their surname.

Anyway if he goes, he goes. Whatever happens he will always be remembered by me as the most watchable and delightful contestant this year. Well done Ed.

I have to confess that I haven't read a single post in this thread but the title makes me giggle (because I'm juvenile like that)

He's reached the last six. Everyone thought he would be booted out in week 1..
Ed (and katya) have already won....whatever the contrived joodges voting.

yes.....

it wlll still end up something like this, whatever thechachachacha marathon scores...
danny 6,louise 6,claudia5,ore4,JR3,ED2...
SO once again Ed will only climb out of the bottom 2 if the public vote overturns the jooodges hatred!!
Couldn't help it...

Balls? I'm planning to watch it completely neked this week

The next couple of weeks will be a true test of his public vote. If it really is so amazing (basically that he's in the top 2) then he should quite easily survive even if he's at the bottom with the judges.

Final 4 is more tricky though. Ed will literally have to top the public vote, if he's at the bottom with the judges and there's no ties, or he's in the dance-off and almost certainly out.

But I'm looking forward to finding out where the Balls may fall. (grabs popcorn)

I can't begin to say how many things on this ridiculous thread are wrong, starting with the title.

It is clear - none of us can say anything as we don't know where Ed - or any of the others - stands in the public vote. We also don't know what will happen this Saturday. For example, what if Danny, Ore or Louise fell over?

So can we just enjoy the show please? All this having a go at a particular contestant - whoever they are - is not at all useful or productive.

Louise V Danny dance-off anyone

Yes, in the final, as the last remaining couples.

That's alright, there are plenty doing it for you. 2016 seems to be the Year of Spite Voting, anyway.
