Certainly not counting my chickens... I won't believe he's gone even when he's gone!

I know Ed couldn't dance when he started, but neither could Daisy, Greg or Claudia and they all improved, in fact Ed should have gone before Daisy and Greg in my opinion as they improved far more than he has and, in my opinion, they tried harder to get the steps correct. Ed doesn't dance, he walks and jumps. Let's hope he goes tonight - oops sorry tomorrow

As for BIB, oh yes, and I second that too. Shame that so many on Titter, social media and this forum do act as though it is the BIGGEST crime in the world for a middle aged former MP who could not previously dance to put effort in each week in producing performances that entertain even if they do not delight dance judges. People are entitled to not like him but the "I'm FUMING" brigade act seem to miss the point of Strictly.. The show has been going since 2004, and I recall this sort of FUMING went on in the days of Kate Garraway. People really should have got to grips with it now,; some not so good dancers last longer than better ones.
I was ready for Ed to go last week, but he didn't and if he lasts tonight so be it. I do not think that either him or his voters deserve to be treated with such anger by the FUMING brigade.”

Agreed. Nor do Ed and Katya deserve to be treated by Craig's obvious dislike of him.

Ed has done brilliantly to get as far as he has - and I've still voted for him.”

I agree, other than that I think the public will save him again. The one thing about Ed which is rarely mentioned (although Len has from time to time) is that Ed has great musicality and his timing is spot on - it was tonight again. He is absolutely on the beat all the time and his tango did have a lot of tango in it. So I reckon he was better than the Judge tonight.

Craig has been VERY gentle with Ed compared to how he would have been a few years ago!

Honestly Ed has been treated with kid gloves compared to the early day of SCD when he'd have had Craig and Arlene Philips being very rude and much nastier than anything this year and even Len and Bruno would have got their "4" and "5" paddles out for him (which they never do now)

Well, the clue is in the title of the show:

Strictly Come Dancing.

This suggests that it's an entertainment show that focuses on dancing not dancing that focuses on entertainment.

Let's Dance For Comic Relief caters for the latter. Fans have a right to be angry if the whole integrity of the show is spoilt because of the rebellious voting of individuals who think it's fun to see an idiot pull cringeworthy faces. He looked like he was straining on the toilet tonight rather than being a model.

Twaddle. Craig can't treat Ed otherwise because of Katya's choreography combined with Ed's musicality.

It's quite easy to be on the beat when you're visibly counting it out, which he's been doing for a while now.

According to my maths, Ed needs to be at least 3rd in the public vote, ahead of Rinder and two others (probably Ore and Louise), to escape the dance-off. I would assume Claudia will come second in the vote behind Danny (or maybe 1st as people may have felt she was undermarked, with a stand-out dance). Danny and Claudia seem very safe, in my opinion. It may be that the tactic of 'undermarking' Claudia and spurring on her vote, will be Ed's undoing because he has probably been beating her up until now.

If Ed finishes 4th, behind Rinder, then he is in the dance-off. There is a chance that Louise may be in the dance-off if she finishes last in the public vote. However, I have a feeling Ore may be last because his support seems to have dwindled. it's probably going to be Ore V Ed but it's possible it could be Ore V Rinder if Ed finishes above Rinder, Ore and one other in the public vote.

Ed is a mathematician so will probably have worked out the probability that he's leaving himself.

Only a novice would agree to dance those steps with him and in the end sequence the whole crowd rise to their feet in appreciation, even though the couple are disqualified by the judges.

Some people thought John Travolta was a half decent dancer in his films and entertained a few people but I am not sure he always followed the standard steps of Rumba, Salsa, Samba, American Smooth, Argentine Tango, Paso Doble, Waltz, etc, etc.”

Why do you think it's called Strictly Come Dancing?! It's precisely for the reason you mention that the show creator thought of ballroom dancing as being something they could tie the hook on and they got permission to use the Come Dancing name to tie it into the long running show and tradition of British ballroom dancing.

In one of the interviews at the show's launch she mentioned watching Baz Luhrmann's film.

Even if he tops the public vote, he will still be bottom 2 overall.

This is a clever way for the judges to remove whoever they want to at this point in the competition...”

Congratulations on successfully predicting the end of Balls!
