Coronation Street - Andy and the aftermath of Michael's death

I think they have a big opportunity here to give Andy some decent screen time and explore all the things they should have explored when Michael was alive. What happened with his real dad, for example?

Andy and Gail didn't overly seem that upset last night, if anything Todd and Eileen seemed affected more,

Agree they can Develop Andy Here

They tried that by having Andy randomly take an interest in writing scripts for horror movies. Kind of fizzled out. He's not an interesting character in any shape or form at the minute.

I think they played down Gail's reaction after the recent grief the Platts have gone through. There's only so much of the same thing viewers want to see.

Caught a few minutes last night and was baffled as to why (yet again) Corrie decide that the best place for people to be when mourning a sudden death is right in the middle of the Rovers bar?

The reveal was absolutely awful. Really badly handled.

To be fair he did look mildly miffed about Des.

It was encouraging to see that he believed Phelan was behind his 'Dads' death!!
Scope to see a return of his more ruthless & angry side hopefully!!

He's become a nonentity recently & is capable of beng so much better imo!!

The actor is great just the character is under used and without personality.

I thought that too. Gail and the whole family didn't seem that upset but then thinking about it why would they be? Michael wasn't particularly close to any of his stepchildren or Audrey. Michael and Gail met and married rather quickly then split up just after their wedding, he then spent a year living with Eileen and then him and Gail only just reunited a couple of weeks ago. They're obviously sad by his passing but probably not devastated, even Gail.

I'm actually glad that Gail was reserved in her grief. I couldn't bear it when they had her fawning all over Michael and acting like a love sick puppy. Lets face it, Gail has dealt with far worse than the loss of deadbeat partner, especially one who left her and shacked up with her mortal enemy!! The Platts have far bigger issues to deal with, so I'm glad they won't be spending too long mourning the loss of that wet blanket.

Gail did not even seem bothered that Andy's lies had contributed to Gail keeping Michael away from Gavin's funeral, and thus caused her & Michael to break up for a while.
