I liked Tanya but the only plot they were ever capable of giving her was a never ending cycle of break ups and reunions with Max. It's a shame that her cancer plot was done under such an incompetent Producer, as it should have been a shining moment in her EE timeline.
I'd much rather Max find a new woman that have a throwback to 2006 and see Max and Tanya chapter 386

Tanya was a very popular character so I'd say it's something TPTB will always be open to. However, Jo seems happy doing other things.

The show desperately needs a nemesis for Jane who will come, start sniffing around and make life incredibly uncomfortable for her. Whilst she has lost the use of her legs, she's still a black widow who commands a lot of influence and really has seen other characters off. An adversary would really shake her up and make life for her uncomfortable as well as improving the quality on show.

To be fair the only makeup/breakup storyline intended for Max and Tanya was the Stacey affair which was a fantastic storyline. Max and Tanya's reunion was very slow paced and realistic - it took 18 months (from December 2007 to June 2009) for them to reconcile. The writers were forced to split them up for a second time due to Jo Joyner taking an extended maternity leave which resulted in Max and Tanya's divorce. They then had to split them up for a third time in 2013 when Jo Joyner quit the show - which resulted in the introduction of the awful Kirsty as Max's secret wife.

Tanya is one of my least favourite characters to ever appear in the show. Nasty, judgemental, spiteful woman.
