Is it not a farce when we invent scenarios to suit our own agenda calamity?

We don't know if she's refused to do anything or been been medically exempted from two tasks because of Bells Palsy. We don't know how or if it affects her now.
I assume, again as we don't know anything, that one of the reasons for her exemption from the Adam and Danny task may have been because she can't swim and couldn't have worn a life jacket for the task. Just as others before her have been exempted on the same grounds and as far as I remember, without the inappropriate and unfounded outrage which Scarlett attracts.
We have no idea if anyone's refused to do tasks, but they can only be exempted on medical grounds. When they are exempted they can't defy the exemption because the show have to cover themselves and look after the contestants health properly.

Apparently the most common reasons for their exemptions are stomach bugs, diarrhea and dehydration and risk of or bite infections, hardly surprising.
The contestants are contracted to do a job and refusals are made public and penalised.

It's the same every year and contestants people don't like are hammered if they're medically exempted when no-one has the remotest idea what the reason is. A waste of energy and imagination

Because I didn't say that they didn't have health problems. I was saying that if they do have health problems then I don't think that they should be in the show. leave it until next year when they're fit. That's what I said.
And I also made the point that if they are on the show then the least the show can do is provide a vague explanation without going into detail. Just something.
If a celebrity is too private to allow people to know that they've got a bad back....then get off the show.
If celebrities are limited in what they are able to do then why is the show inviting them on in the first place? If it's a one-off for some reason, fair enough. But if it becomes a succession of trials they are exempt from then I don't think they have any business being there. Get another celebrity replacement or stand-in and come back next year.

And as it goes I didn't start the thread because I hate Scarlett. I mention that because I see that the thread has started to deviate into that silly territory where it becomes being about fans or critics of particular celebrities. I was talking about celebrities in general, not because I have any particular dislike of any of them. I just expect the show to be about being able to watch the celebrities do trials and be available to do them. And there's no more to it than that.

And anyway, if people see a celebrity doing something physical, and a task comes up which doesn't appear to be beyond their capabilities due to what they've done before, then naturally I'd expect that to pique viewers' curiosity and for it to encourage them to ask questions of the show.

I havent seen anyone on Strictly refusing to do spins because they have vertigo. they just shouldnt be in the Jungle with so many ailments that stop them sharing the same trials as the rest, its not right.

Yes, it will be a case of finding out if they're fit and healthy, and if they are then they're good to go.

Somebody asked how many trials they have been exempt from. I think it's two, maybe three, plus them both doing the canoe thing at the start of the series instead of the high rise building balance or parachute jump.

With them doing the canoe thing instead of the parachute jump or high rise building balance does this give us a clue that their medical issue is about them being afraid of heights? It obviously can't be to do with avoiding water.
If so then what's so private about being afraid of heights or having vertigo which they don't wish to be revealed?

I don't hate Scarlett or anyone else but, what I don't like is Scarlett on our screens far more than anyone else and constantly in that interview room.The winner is chosen by the producers before the show starts and the public seem to agree with them.There at some far more deserving winners than her.

Why not get in touch with the people running the show, no-one here can answer your questions. Tell them you only want guaranteed perfect fitness and ability and people who're immune to any illness and injury the jungle might throw at them. That should do it.
Why do you and others assume anyone's gone in there with health problems?

No matter what you say it still doesn't alter the fact that you have no idea at all why anyone is medically exempted and you have absolutely zero right to know any contestants private medical details and never will.

Sorry but celebrities are most often referred to as commodities as vulgar as it sounds. Its total rubbish and naive to think the public won't be curious as to the nature of immunities. So its OK for these ppl to been in skimpy bikinis, getting g their abs out, sharing their lives on TV but pick and choose what is revealed in the jungle with regards to their immunity. So if a celebrity has a guarded medical condition then it's even more bizarre why they agree to participate ....pick and close to suit and all for money

Larry is partially deaf due to a bout of malaria and has consequent inner ear issues which can also affect balance. Swimming underwater and/or faffing around on a wobbly scaffold structure would not be advisable

This excempt nonsense should be stopped in its tracks, its gone on long enough with Z celebs being paid a fortune to eat rice and beans, wash in a stream and demean themselves having animals and insects dropped on them for money, things people endure in some third world countries daily, if they want to get fame and cash , at least have the decency to stay away from the show if you cant compete like the rest in there.

You tell me where her facial condition fits in, you're the one claiming it does which is a really ridiculous claim when you have absolutely no idea. Are you hoping you can make it true if it's mentioned often enough? You don't have the same rage about Larry or anyone else who's been exempt. Why?

Neither do we have responsibility for the contestants health and welfare nor the knowledge and ability to decide if anyone is capable of taking part in a trial. How on earth can you think you do? Again, contact the show when you're so convinced you know better. Tell them you want super fit contestants with guaranteed immunity from everything know to man. Because you sure as hell aren't going to be given personal health details about anyone or be miraculously bestowed with the medical knowledge and qualifications to challenge and change any Doctor's decision.

Surely they should be delighted, as she is getting less air-time.

If you read up about Bells Palsey, doing the trials would not have any risks for Scarlett.

As for the water trials, they should just say that "Scarlett, Ola, a.n.other are exempt from this trial because they cannot swim."

So going by your 'logic' its safe to assume that these two are exempt from anything such as their farting so loudly in the night they gave themselves temporary shock. Take your blinkers off because I don't know why you and several others have a problem with the term medical condition
