I do. Let him blame it all on Vinny and stay in Corrie and then start some new different sort of scam in a few months' time. Would you rather he be caught though? There's no evidence against him, only heresay and circumstantial and Michael's death WAS natural causes, as a post mortem will show. I love the character. Anna will always suspect him and there could be some good confrontations with those two still to come. She was almost going mad with the cops last night.

Never the less, Phelan was responsible for his death.

Yes he was but it was still a heart attack. They could have him a sort of teflon character, like Trump a bit, where nothing sticks and lands him in jail.

Please don't compare the great Phelan to the evil racist dictator who is soon to be POTUS.

Well he's not so great is he as he's just scammed thousands of pounds out of fairly poor people. I do love the character though. That little smirk when he thinks something's going his way. Great actor.

Phelan was merely trying to help the citizens of Weatherfield get quality urban living at an affordable price, its not his fault Vinny was scamming them all, he was just a pawn in Vinny's game.

Erm he was in on it though! They had a joint business account. He'd have done a runner with half the dosh if Vinny hadn't beaten him to it.

not at all, it might have seemed like that but Phelan's intentions are only of the most righteous.

No he isn't, the only bad person is Anna who is masking her sexual desire for Phelan as hate and helped Micheal in his attempt to wrongly expose Phelan.

Yeah right, Phelan's an angel. He'd shoot his own grandmother for money.

It would be a shame if his reign over the cobbles came to an end soon.

.There is no proof of anything on Phelan , only Todd knows and he cant say anything without dropping himself in it
I think Phelan has a bit of a soft spot for Eileen, see the way they had him look at her when he thought he was going for good ?
CS has a way of changing characters personalities after a while in

He could change his ways and settle down, get insurance money from the bank and build the flats ?

Good grief no. He's an utterly repugnant criminal thug who's responsible for a man's death, regardless of anything you say and innocent people losing their hard earned money.
That's only this story line, his reputation preceded him and he's lived up to it.
I want him done for the lot and out of Corrie for good. I couldn't be more pleased that predictably Vinnie walked all over the arrogant bully.

He hasn't really got anything to get away with, now that Vinny took the money and ran.

If Phelan and Todd have any sense (and they are the two characters I do expect sense from on the Cobbles) they'll let Vinny take all the blame for the scam. Tell the police that he was in charge of the business and finance side of things, Phelan was in charge of the actual construction side of it and Todd was just their employee. Vinny pulled the wool over their eyes too - they had no idea that he was planning to do a runner.

If they want to try to generate a bit of sympathy from the locals, they can even blame themselves for Vinny running; they say they were starting to ask questions about why Vinny kept delaying the ground breaking and saying all the flats weren't sold when Todd was pretty certain he'd signed up enough people. They must have scared him off, so sorry, never meant too.

I can see them getting away with this, but I don't think Phelan's going to be able to stick around; if nothing else, his pride won't let him stay where he's had to crawl to people.

He was scared because Phelan was after him, but if his heart was that dodgy he could have had a heart attack the next time he had a fight with Gail, or did anything strenuous

Honestly I hope Anna goes down for Rodwell and the flats scam.

Phelan is an odious moron but I don't actually blame Michael's death on him!!

Michael had a personal grudge against him which really had very little to do with protecting the folk of Weatherfield, but stemmed from him losing Eileen to Phelan!!
He was taking stupid, unnecessary risks to satisfy that grudge and he knew exactly whst Phelan was capable of after what happened the previous time they clashed when Phelan failed to help him after he had his heart attack & fell down the builder's yard steps!!

We don't know whether or not Phelan would have killed him this time as his own dicky ticker once again got there first!!

I think he would have killed him as Michael was running from him.

I hope Eileen is shunned by everyone, she loves being so judgemental and pissed all of Jason's money down the drain just because Phelan liked her.
