I love Phelan - he'll have to be caught eventually but I'd like him to get away with it for a while. Eventually Anna can bring him down but not just yet as I'm enjoying him too much.

I cannot bear him and have considered switching off during his time on the show. I have been longing for him to be found out and to get his comeuppance. He has ruined Corrie for me.

Innocent people? Not the one that knew a victim of murder was buried under the floor. Or maybe the other one who kidnapped a kid and hung him over a balcony trying to kill him. The money is not being earn hard that's for sure. Lazy and drunk going back to their various jobs from the pub. More of a menace to society than innocent.

I think it would be a great shame if they let such a brilliant actor go. I hope Phelan is rehabilitated and marries Eileen.

How do you know that is due to Phelan though? Certainly the people I know that watch Corrie cannot stand him.

It's all a natter of opinion. People love a good baddie generally speaking and Phelan certainly meets that criteria.

Phelan doesn't need any punishment as he didn't actually get away with stealing any money and Michael died from a heart attack. He must stay but he can just carry on as far as I'm concerned.

It is a matter of opinion, but I personally do not "love a baddie", not one single one of them, nor ever have. I enjoy the comedy characters in soaps. Personally my absolute favourite in Corrie is Mary and for me they do not use her anywhere near enough. I'm also enjoying Gemma and look forward to her scenes.

If people loathe Phelan then the character has been a complete success... that's literally the point of the character.

I won't go as far as Donna & say he's spoiling Corrie for me but I certainly don't get what people find so special about him!!
He's got the gift of the gab but he is to all intents & puroposes a complete loser!! He went bankrupt through his own stupidity, needed to blackmail a middle aged housewife in order to get sex, tried to get rich with a scam then got scammed himself instead by someone who was actually some good at it!!
Now all he'll do is talk his wsy out of it & into the next hair brained money making scheme which will end the same way & he'll talk his way out of it again ad infinitum!! I would happily see him gone soon tbh!!
As baddies go he isn't fit to lace the boots of Jez Quigley, Tony Gordon, Charlie Stubbs Richard Hillman, etc to my mind!! He's just a wideboy bully who thinks he's more scary and more successful than he actually is!!
