Just for comparison,

4 ITV - 07:00 PM Emmerdale 6555 33.0%
5 BBC One - 08:00 PM EastEnders 6203 28.0%

So a 1.2 million gao between Corrie and EastEnders.

Good figures from Corrie. It will be top at Christmas like last year unless EastEnders picks up the pace

Well done corrie

I don't care about ratings but you'd expect the aftermath of Michaels death to do fairly well.

Isn't it standard for there to be around a million gap between EastEnders and Corrie ? I don't pay too much attention to ratings but that's usually the case whenever I do look.
To be frank I am amazed EastEnders gets over 6 million. The contrast between that show and emmerdale / corrie is stark . its landing in every department currently.

Fabulous news, and well deserved.

I am not surprised by the gap between EE and Corrie. When you have barely anything going on and leave most viewers with virtually no incentive to watch, that's what happens.

Is a million that much of a gap though? I don't think EE are rating that badly considering it was a big week for corrie last week.

Some decent characters would be a start, atleast then when nothings going on atleast one can care about the characters. But thats for the other thread

The gap between EE and Corrie had almost entirely closed not too long ago but now it's getting wider again. ED has been ahead of EE ever since the car pile up stunt.

I'd never bank on this because BBC puts out all the stops for its Xmas line up and many people stick to one channel on Xmas day, hence why the viewing figures are usually always high for BBC programmes.

We don't know as yet what CS has planned for xmas, but ITV doesn't tend to try and compete with the BBC. I think it sees it as a day it rarely succeeds so quite rightly put their efforts into the rest of the year.
