May be Caroline Flack??”

I honestly don't think Abbey had much previous training. She wasn't an amazing dancer to me, just good for an amateur.

Flackers obviously a huge stonking ringer

I think it's obvious at this point that the pros have a lot of input in the song choices and it's not fair that those who are choosing wisely aren't being credited with their choises because of some conspiracy theory about the producers having favourites.

I wish we had VTs ability about it, rather than nonsense ones, to setttle the point.

I think all the versions are pretty much the same, but I love Seal's voice. BBC should invite him once.

That's how I saw it with Abbey, I was not a huge fan but she got to a pretty decent level through hard work and some dance talent.

Flackers yes a ringer second only to Pixie that year.

I wanted Natalie or Sophie to win. Still pissed off.

Good for AT though!”

Do you dance AT? I ask because you comment on that dance/music quite a lot. I have no feeling for an AT in the Lorde cover. I don't like the song although it had a certain drama.

I agree with you about Abbey. Thought she was poor at latin but her ballroom was quite good and did not come from learning a new dance each week. She along with Caroline are my least favourite winners evah!

Some terrible choices again! Give the choice back to the pro's, they surely must know better than the producers.

I think that Danny & Oti have the best music this week, & I’m looking forward to seeing their dance; Their tune has a carnival Samba feel IMO.

I think Louise & Kevin’s song is ok.

I’m in two minds about Claudia & AJ’s song for their AT; I don’t like Justin Timberlake’s version, but I’ve listened to it a few times, & I think it might work.

The other songs don’t fit their chosen dances (IMO).

I think Claudia & AJ's AT could be incredible if handled right. We will see!

I have faith that it could be a decent comeback for her - despite being saddled with questionable music

PERFECT SAMBA SONG.

It needs to be a good song to help make up for the awful AT music
with trad music I would think his AT would have been out of thiis world

cant wait to see what Oti comes up with for this I think she is the dogs bollocks

To the speed of the track I would imagine.
Or do you expect a different tempo to be set?

I agree. A lot of people who are just talented are labelled ringers. In a way those who are and work hard and progress have a disadvantage and have a hard time persuading people they aren't cheats.

I think it is good music for a tango but hard for an amateur to interpret which is why traditional music is often better for the celebs.

Are you back on that bulge?

Danny's had consistently good music. They could give him the leavings of the kids who didn't make St Winnifred's School Choir until the end, and it still wouldn't even things out. In fact, he should be condemned to dance to Giovanni's singing for every last appearance as a penance

The pros really need to go back to choosing the music, it seems so much more noticeable this year that the music is just wrong for so many dances. Danny got a proper Samba song and I think he'll smash it, and Buble is fine for a waltz but everything else is just dire. Ore and Joanne have totally drawn the short straw though, That version of Everybody wants to rule the world is good, but it's too slow for a paso imo

Ore's song was used for a paso on DWTS last season, so it can be done:

Maggie - no. But I was inspired by seeing it for real in the parks around Buenos Aries. I guess they were busking with a ghetto-blaster - no musicians as I recall. They chose a spot not much bigger than a postage stamp and were surrounded by onlookers, so really they couldn't have had extravagant movement in terms of distance to travel or fast, frantic moves - in stark contrast to the routines we see on SCD. When you look at the exhibition dancers on Youtube, I would imagine even they have re-interpreted the spirit of those "folk dancers" in the parks. Makes you wonder if anything is authentic really. But the impression they left was intimate, pretty much glued to the spot, and intense. I can't think of many routines I've seen on SCD that have captured what I saw - but then again, I doubt what I saw would have made good television.

Judge Rinder and Oksana will be dancing the Rumba to ‘Lean On Me’ by Bill Withers
Louise and Kevin will be dancing the Waltz to ‘At This Moment’ by Michael Buble
Ore and Joanne will be dancing the Paso Doble to ‘Everybody Wants To Rule The World’ by Lorde

Well, what do we think??”

That would be my highlight this week!
High hopes on it!

I think this is an interesting point.

Do you blame the show for bastardising a style - or do you blame the public, for only appreciating the grand and flashy?
