Well of course not, they employ journo's over the various sections and it prob included staff at the mag that is closing but either way, job uncertainty just before Xmas is shit.

the glee in which ppl are talking about DS's demise on it's very forums is a bit odd and gives no regard for the staff who are having to read all this crap from people's over active imaginations

Thanks for the clarifying that. As critical as I am about the way DS is run (by senior management) we all have to remember there are real people behind the site who have done no wrong.

They certainly don't deserve to loose their job, especially at this time of year. I'm in the same boat and fully expect to get my "thanks for your hard work, but goodbye" letter when I get to work tomorrow.

I am somewhat surprised and saddened by the tone of this reply. I stand by my OP and offer this bet. ..

The email source gave a specific date which out of respect I choose to withhold but now I have been FORCED to reveal it to demonstrate my good character. The said forum (DS) will make the closure announcement on Monday the 28th of of November at 6pm. If this comes to pass, you apologise and ban two users of my choice (no names at this stage) , if not you can ban me.

The rest of you people should be counting down the hours and preparing you goodbye posts on the 1st of Jan. (Apart from Jason Watkins and Stoatie who I will ask to be banned)

You may be right, I don't know what your source is. DS Forum Support maybe right, but I somehow imagine they'd just keep quiet to be honest. I certainly don't know either way.
