You could probably recast Denise tbh, it's not like she's a memorable character, her last appearance was almost decade ago and she hasn't been a regular for 20 years.
That said, I couldn't stand her character the first time round so am not overly fussed if she returns or not.

One of many 90s characters I never warmed to at all!!
I'd much prefer her back on Corrie - Denise was a superior character to Joanie. Joanie's a bit dull and pointless and should never have been used to split up Zak and Lisa. I don't believe in Joanie and Zak as a couple either there's no chemistry.
Denise on the other hand was quite an interesting character, she was a bit of a bitch with a nasty, selfish streak but at the same time had a softer side. It would be great to see her return now Daniel is back. Denise vs Tracy should be quite good.
She wouldn't be the first actress to jump ship to resume their original soap role. Gillian Taylforth left Hollyoaks in order to return to EE as Kathy Beale.
