before their wedding she told Lee after they're married she would love to try again for another baby. She's even talked about lots of kids etc in the future. So why oh why was she so desperate for Lee to get this small pokey studio flat if she was planning on getting pregnant soon after the wedding? It just seems rather silly. Looking at the place tonight, even though it's a nice enough place for the two of them, they're not going to be in there very long if they do have a child, what was she thinking? The child would sleep next to their bed while they're having sex?! Obviously they could move again I know but they couldn't even afford the place their in now so how does she think they will be able to get a bigger place? The council won't help them either as its private landlord, they will just tell Lee to get a job with more pay! Whitney would be home with the baby like she's said so won't be bringing in any money herself. It's like they've rushed in without thinking ahead!

The kid will need a cot for a couple years it's not like they are raising a dinosaur.

She just wanted to get her own place with Lee, kids or no kids. Can't blame her really.

They need their own space

A lot of babies sleep in their parents room anyway for the first 6 months. My 8 week daughter has her own room but she sleeps in a moses basket by our bed anyway because it's more convenient for us even though we do have more space. Getting intimate would be slightly awkward for Lee and Whitney though

Sleeping, eating, watching tv, music, socialising, farting, burping, screaming baby, arguing, sex, cuddles, cooking, washing up, changing baby, washing baby, feeding baby...in one room!! Recipe for disaster

She needs to get herself a job before embarking on the baby making trail. She's like some 1950s housewife and it is a very depressing sight and message

I have seen her in there but assumed she was just helping out whilst living there. How many staff do they need Both Mick and Linda work their full time and they have Babe / Abi in the kitchen so no idea how they can afford Tracey and Whitney as well.

I'm assuming her hours must be very limited. Surely she needs to work full time.

I doubt Linda works there full time, as she's quite often seen looking after Ollie. With that said, Johnny also works there part time. But I don't think it's unrealistic for a busy central London pub to have a couple of full timers and a few part timers.

He's suffering from depression. Lack of sex drive is a very common sympton.

Lee suffers from depression and sadly this has impacted upon his sexual functionality, which obviously embarrasses him and so makes him feel worse. Unfortunately Whitney feels that she's the reason Lee is avoiding consummating their marriage so it impacts in her too

It isn't central London, it's the east end Still I just don't see how they can make a profit with all the staff they have. Anyway if Whitney for story line purposes is working full time at the Vic fair enough but I only ever see her cooking, cleaning and trying to lure Lee into bed

Central East End, then. It's still a busy pub. I've never worked in one before but I'd assume you'd want at least five staff on the rota. Babe and Abi work in the kitchen so I'm not including them. Agreed that Whitney doesn't seem to work there full time but the writers use a bit of dramatic license I guess,

lots of families start off small. Nothing wrong with it.

Re the OP though, Whitney has never been very realistic about this. She was determined tl get one of Jack's flats when she was pregnant so wouldnt have been earning within a few minths and Lee was still on the fish stall so making a pittance. She does seem yo have this "it'll be okay if we press ahead" attitude.

Now however, remember she thinks Lee has this wonderful job with great prospects so probably expects his salary to increase so they can get something bigger quite soon, certainly within a couple of years so any baby wpuld still be cot rather than bed sized.

They said "evenings" in tonight's show but that could mean anything from a few hours to a full shift.

Where does Shirley work?

Nancy was working there full time before she left and Johnny only helped out in the holidays. Even Shirley helps out when they have events.

Thinking about it, Whitney was at home when Lee got back from work, so she either works part-time evenings (say from 7pm) or had a day off. That doesn't help, does it?!

I've worked in Pu s and there usuly are a good half dozen staff on the rota in addition to the landlord/manager. You'd need at least 2, more likely 3 behind the bar plus one or two in the kitchen depending on how popular the food is and how much is freshly prepared rather than being stuck in the microwave.

Then there is pubs being open for 12 hours now, plus the set up, clearing up, taking deliveries, stock take time. Mick and Linda couldn't do it as the only full timers, even if Ollie wasn't a consideration.

Shirley, Jonny, Tracey all work there part time. Nancy used to work there full time I think, maybe Whitney picked up her shifts?

They've been deliberately vague about Whitney's shifts. It started as the odd one that she was given to tide her over when she lost her job at the school so more the Carters helping her than the other way round. She did always seem yo be upstairs wityering about the wedding and what to make for dinner when living there than working. They've now declared she works evenings but she didn't used to.

The other week her shift started at 3pm...so there must be a shift rota.

We've also seen her helping in the kitchen and looking after Ollie.

Once they had the child, they wouldn't need to have sex.
