True but she wasn't alone in that. Others have (unrealistically) turned a blind eye including Max's own daughter and nephew.
Ian and Jane were at least affected by Max's imprisonment at the time. Ian was driven to a suicide attempt. Jane committed perjury to try and get him off the hook.
Max may never have been imprisoned if Phil hadn't bribed the jury foreman to sway a guilty verdict. Phil only did that for petty reasons too which makes it worse.

“Phil isn't responsible for the cover up and dumping of lucys body either”
Phil trashed Heather's flat to make her murder look like a burglary gone wrong. He also got rid of evidence from Carl White's flat after Ronnie killed him. He's no innocent when it comes to something like this Sorcha.
He's not just a bystander in this. He contributed to Max's imprisonment. Then there's other stuff like because of him a man was burnt to death in 1994. He also - albeit indirectly - has the blood of Dennis Rickman and Kevin Wicks on his hands.
Prior to Max going down more people were defending Jane but in the Max situation others behaved worse than she did. Jane wanted to go to the police last Christmas and Ian stopped her. Before that she was wavering and made it clear to Sharon she thought that Max going down was wrong. Sharon manipulated her into holding her nerve "Who do you care about more? Max or Bobby?". That was just before Sharon swanned about the courthouse corridors proclaiming Max going down as 'being for the best'. I'm more disgusted with people like Phil, Sharon and Lauren (Lauren who took months to say anything then gave up after one attempt) who weren't protecting their son than I am at Jane and Ian.
While Jane getting her karma via Bobby turning on her and ending up in a wheelchair isn't to everyone's taste it's more of a comeuppance than others have had in this story i.e. zilch. It wouldn't surprise me if they whitewash Phil and Sharon's involvement altogether.
