I only do a bit of the back, it's a bit pointless when you can see it if the back is against a wall.

I don't have a traditional tree anymore but I did make an effort of hanging baubles around the back which would last about a minute before I abandoned it. I don't iron the backs of my sons school shirts either, I just give the front a quick going over but I am lazy and keen to save time on non essential stuff.

How do you know which is the back? it'll just look stupid if you leave a section empty

I'd say there are less decorations at the back, i don't leave it bare.

the back would be against the wall. Do you have your tree in the middle of the room?

I always go around the back of the tree..

No point doing a half job, only comes once a year.

I hang Christmas decorations I don't really like much there. Ugly reindeers or Santas that look like a sex offender.

the lights go all the way around but hanging things/baubles don't go where the tree snugs the wall

We always place the tree in the front window, which appears to be the Germanic tradition, so there's no back, we have to decorate the window-side for passers by and then the living room side for us. Maybe scrimp a little on the side that is nearer to the one wall

I don't have a tree or any decorations. I live alone so what's the point? Bah humbug.

me too... I once thought of making some decorations out of black binbags to express my feelings, but didn't in the end.

I put all the shittier baubles and whatnot at the back.

Same, and I put less of them there too. Just enough to not look bare.

Ours goes in a corner so pointless doing the back.

I tend to do a sort of crescent leaving the most decorations in the best spots, but then I am a bit of a perfectionist. I tend to fiddle with the arrangement a couple of days after to balance any weak spots from the main views.

The girlfriend does all the Christmas decorations. I just get them down from the loft. She is not so keen on taking it down though, so I have the pleasure of that.

I did the back by mistake, so had to strip the tree and do the front instead

My bloody lights broke 5 minutes into Christmas day! Brand new, £20 and only been used for almost 3 hours. Not pleased!

Now comes the task of undressing the tree and trying to find any errant baubles before we take the tree for recycling

I have a half tree so don't have any back to decorate, saves space and time

Don't particularly mind stripping and taking it down.

We wrap the lights all the way around and a few decorations at the back, but not many because you can't really see them there.
